Well i dont know if anyone remember but i just bought rims and got hte WRONG size tires... I had 225/40/18's all around but it was not right.. just didnt look nice...

so i went out and got bridgestone potenza 245/45/18 in front ... HAD 225/40/18

Had: 225/40/18
HAVE: 265/40/18
Rims are 18x8

Looks SOOOOO much better... filled the fender gap a litttle.. still needs to be lowered...

Today i just spent 75 and got the interior detailed... and shapoo carpets and seats... looks BRAND NEW!!! crazy how dirty the seats were ... they didnt look tha bad.. but now they look GREAT!!!

Rear tires that are 265/45/18 look so sweet...

Hope you all enjoy...

Great job on the Cleanliness....I dont know..for some reason, Im not feelin those wheels. Maybe it just needs to be dropped then it'll make the wheels look more appealing.

I respect your opinion..

The reason i went with black is that i have a DARK colored car... TINTED tail lights... black pilers along windows.. and tinted windows... just thought a black contrast would look nice... not to mention that stock 18 w/ tires are like 53 lbs.. and these are 42 lbs.... not bad... maybe ill hit 14.2's now hahah

The purpose of getting new tires was to fill up the wheel gap........ Why did you not get 245/45? Seems silly to go below stock profile. But whatever man you still have wheel gap and just bought another set of tires. How much have you spent about 1500 so far without solving the problem? Lets all learn a lesson from this guy.

Picky, picky. What's a 5 difference amongst friends in the profile department.

I must say...those tires look awesome. A HUGE improvement that makes the wheels look fab now. MEAT is good. What size rim in terms of width do you have? That size tires requires a 9 inch width to stay in Spec. Since we are on the subject. What kind of tires are those in the back? They must be BF Goodrich huh? You went with different tires in the front versus the rear? Forget about rotations. The good news is you'll have 265's in the front before you know it. In either case, car looks fantastic!

Regarding post #12--he went from 225/40 to 265/40 which gives him another .7 inches in tire height.

The fender gap should have gotten alil more noticeable with your new 40 series tire since its thinner. But from what I see, doesnt look more noticeable.

But yeah, with your new low pro's, you should really invest in lowering the car which I know you already know. What's holding you back from lowering the car?

Nice tires. It was an interesting choice to put wider tires on the back. Very rear drive. What’s your intent when it’s time to rotate? Will you be as happy with the 265s on the front and the 245s on the back? That may actually prove to help your performance. The wider tire will enhance traction off the line, and the smaller diameter will shorten your gears. It won’t be by much, but you never know. I guess the only downside is that the 265s up front will throw off your speedometer. You won’t be going as fast as the speedometer indicates. Good for avoiding speeding tickets. Look forward to seeing pictures after you lower the car.

Ok I have researched a little and I quote, you said this...

"18x7.5 MB Drifters Black w/ a polished lip ... purchased from americas tire co. here in so cal.
I paid $818.83 out the door for these rims and a set of 235/40/18 Z rated Kuhmo Ecstas. Ive had ecstas before and if u maintain them they will go out 35-40. Next set of tires i get will be 255/45/18..."

Ok in your case the mileage is a moot point.
On the otherhand, the rim width could be a problem-particularly at high speeds.
Looked at another way-the tire width could be a problem-particularly at high speeds.

Now if you had stuck to your original game plan 255/45 would have only required a 8 inch width wheel to stay in Spec. (Chernmax).

The lower the profile (because of sidewall stiffness) the wider the wheel needed. The wider the tire...obvious. You have sidestepped both recommendations.
By my math you are 1.5 inches too narrow of a rim to meet the recommendations of the tire manufacturer.
Be careful.

haha u r an idiot.. stock tires are 245/45/18

second i didnt change the tires for wheel gap but for looks on width of the tire... i didnt buy the tiers for much.. so no i ahve nto spent 1500... and i SOLD/SELLING the first set of the 225's...

LETS LEARN A LESSON FROM NEWBIES WITH 10 POST!!! DONT BE AN IDIOT

bY the way i ahve spent a total of 800 or so 18's with 265's and 245's ... not a bad deal at all..

i misstyped on teh width of the rim.. they are 18x8

as for them being too small for the tires i went to 3 tire places and all said they would be fine...

guess only time will tell ...

Fastmax05 with wheel gap, I am well aware of the origional tire size. I was just pointing out how you jump around in sizes wasting money when you should have just stayed with the stock size. Nice tho, trying to rationalize buying 8 tires.

I didnt think the 225's would look as bad as they did... hense why i got new ones..

just cause i got new tires doesnt mean that i ahve to keep those old tires... so i bought the tires but i am selling/sold 4...

I got my bfgs gfroce kdw for free from my dad he had them on his g35... they had only 1000 miles on them...

the front 245's i bought from a local orger for 130 shipped they had 80% plus on them.. so really i spent around 750 or so...

u act like the 225 s i had on cant be sold to anyone or traded... silly boy...

they are not a loss at all.. im getting around what i paid for them give or take around 50 bucks... losing 50 bucks is not a HUGE deal to me... i work hard so i can buy toys... u live and learn which i did here... but it only cost me around 750-800 for EVERYTHING....which i think is a damn good price...

After this car is dropped it will be one of the nicest looking maximas in my opinion. The tires made all the difference. The wheels look great on the car. The reduction in wheel gap will set this car off. The smoked rear tailights compliment the color of the car and wheels.

Clean, sporty, tastefully done.

the tail lights are sick...

why do you have wider tires in the rear when you have a front wheel drive car?

also the rims look plain. I'm not hating at all but it just seems like they aren't up to par with the tail lights...

Can the 265's go on the front without rubbing? Im going to have to get tires in the next month or so. I might go 265 if they dont rub on the stock wheels.

again... I'm not hating, but I just need to know why you have 265's for back tires when your car is front wheel drive.. ?

Is it not obvious? He did it for looks/cosmetics. Incidently, he already mentioned that.
