subs
just want to put this out there... recently my subs would cut in and out until they stopped working... dealership refused to help cause i was out of warranty. getting the runaround from audio shops. so i decided to call around to see if any other places would be able to fix the bose subs. i finally found a place, that agreed to take a look at them.
as i was removing the subs i noticed the wire from the cone to the terminals were broken. got out the solder gun and re soldered it and what you know bass again... so next time you come across subs cutting in and out check the terminals very simple fix.

yeah i did, there is a huge difference without the bass... the rear speakers sounded very muted, the ones in the doors.

I loved the stock bose system. I added a 12" kicker solobaric to the system and sounds great. Although my front tweeter keeps going out and nissan refused to fix it since I modified the stock system by adding a sub.... they always have some dumb excuse. And yes, My cd player skips all the time too...

The bose car system is not the system you would expect after experiencing their home theater setups. Its a known, do some research on the net and you'll see everyone complaining about how they just sold their name to the car manufacturers and the sound quality is not there. I've added 2 10" subs in zenclosure in the trunk and now its acceptable although not even close to the setup I had in my jeep.
And yes the CD skipping is a common problem. You bring it to a normal dealer and right away they will just replace the HU. I've had my bose amp replaced and months later the HU was replaced too. There are times when the new HU is skipping too. I am highly dissapointed knowing that this is part of a premium audio package and not just base system. There is absolutely nothing premium about it.
