Progess Spings can do wonders for everyone!

I finally lowered my max, along with Fastmax. Major thanks again to Coolmax05 for all of his help. For the noobs who ask, why buy progress springs? They improve the looks of your car and increases the handling and response time. You can do 40 *mph* turns with ease. The reduce lean and pitch and gives the maxima a better center of gravity.

Here are some pics.

That's nice man, I have to lower mine sooner or later.

Anyway, how much did you pay for the Progress? Did you install only springs or also did the shocks?

lookin good leet. +1 on the handling improvement w/lower center of gravity. I'd also highly reccomend the RSB- it really tightens up the rear and inspires even more confidence in turns.

Looks very well done, not too low in the back either

P.S. I believe you mean 40MPH turns not MPG. =) haha

I also have progress and can vouch for what the OP is saying here. This should be the first thing done when you get the car home in the garage!

Congrats on your drop! Way to go Mario Andretti.

just springs were installed? I thought if you lower your car with springs and leave the shocks stock, that youll ruin the shocks? is this true? if not im totally down for new springs..

thanks guys.... it took me long enough. the springs have been sitting in my storage for 5 months. HA!

I have SL shocks and struts. the springs made the road feel a little harder, but i cant complain... I was use to it with my 20"s

I had thought that also. When you call Cattman, he will encourage you to purchase springs and shcoks/struts.

I asked around and found that a few people were still running stock s&s's. So I went with that. If my OEM ones blow, then I'll replace them. SO I chose to stay with stock ones, and just upgrade the springs. IIRC Jsmithsole has had his on for 2+ years and is still running stock shocks. I did mine (with a group of the coolest people I have met) about 2 months ago. Nothing blown yet, but those corners....

Car looks real good man, I've been wanting to lower my car too to get rid of the sway you get from going into and coming out of turns plus it makes the car look a lot nicer. You'll have to let me know how the stock struts/shocks hold up because I want to just do the same for now. I still have the stock 18" wheels, how much of ride quality do you give up though?

Woah Woah Woah ... Make the ride harder. I hit a slightly above average bump in my max with stock everything and it feels like my dentures ... umm wait i don't have dentures ... my chiclets are dancing and the Max goes in to a vibrating fit. Could you imagine if I hadn't had the struts(3x) and springs replaced.

I'm calling corporate again!!!! The "regional rep" got replaced now I have to tell my story all over again.

Looks nice though. I think I need to move to a place where there are no potholes. Does such a place exist?

I have a 2005 max 6spd . When I go down my gravel drive I get the bumpy rattley vibration through steering wheel. Is this resolved with replacing the front sway bar and endlinks?

thecritik - yep that is expected. however i have an SL and i think shocks and struts are a little bit better then SE shocks and struts. So my ride quality isnt that bad with the progress springs.

mightymax5 - you may also need a tire alignment.
