I just finished installing a Fujita Intake. what a pain in the ***! The check engine light appeared. How do I turn it off? I'm sorry if this is a repeat.

I had the same crap! Did you turn the motor on when the intake assembly was off? If so then just drive for a week or so and it'll relearn itself and turn off.

Make sure that your MAF is plugged in correctly as well.

If all of that is fine and your tubing is alright and you don't have any hesitation from the motor then just drive it and in about a week or so it'll turn off by itself (that was a lot of "ands!")

Did you disconnect your battery first?

Also, I agree with Prjct.

The light shouldn't have come on if you read and followed all instructions to the 't'. I know it is pretty simple to figure out, but these stinkin' sensors (MAF) are picky as all get out. The directions told how to bypass this directly. (At least the intake for the 04-06 did).

Whatever the cause, driving it around for a bit will turn it off.

No didn't unplug the battery nor start the car. I followed the directions to the T. I guess I'll just wait and see if the light turns off. Hopefully the car won't die on me. Thanks.

I'm guessing the MAF is backwards.

You can reset it yourself.

Or, take it to AutoZone and have them read the codes for free. This will help pinpoint the 'problem'

Another possibility, yes. Check for the flow arrow and verify it's pointing in the correct direction.

Verify that the clamps are tight between the throttle body and the MAF. Unmetered air getting in after the MAF will create a lean condition.

Unsure if MAF is backward? Check my MAF sensor picture below. This is the side facing the throttle body. It has no opening in the sensor (mine has 3 small holes to modify A/F mix). The side looking at the air filter will have a 1/4" X 1/4" opening and a tiny wire going across.

According to the service manual, for many cases, the engine has to cycle from cold (~ under 150F.) to normal temp. a few times to reset engine light.

If you know someone with an OBD-II they can erase the code in less than a minute. Not disconnecting your battery is what normally causes this. You can also go to an Advanced Auto, Autobachs, pepboyz, etc and they can also do it for you for free, however I have heard some may not erase the code, last is do nothing and after your ECU relearns, it will go out on it's own within 2-3 days depending on how much you drive daily...

LOL, Oh and this has never happened before to anyone!!!

Thanks for the love. I took it to advance auto and they reset it. The codes all referred to sensors.

All codes are related to sensors. By any chance do you know which sensors they were?

Bank 1 and Bank 2? Or bank 1, sensor 2? Do you know the actual code that was pulled?

in any case it's fixed for now.
