Latest audio video mods;

Thanks guys!
Here is some additional info about my HU selection;
Initially I looked at the eclipse 6610, while I know that the eclipse is a more highly recommended unit around these parts. At the end of the day I chose the unit that I felt would give more value to me. This unit plays divx, has xm, plays music files loaded on a memory stick (via a usb connection), it also features full ipod integration. I have a creative zen so use the audio video connections in my glove box to listen to music on the zen or watch movies, it also features excellent Bluetooth cell phone integration and dual zone listening (my daughter's favorite feature).

I have to see this twice huh. Dammmit i'm going to go broke before Christmas. You should've done this before father's day. Then I could've conned my wife into one of those head units. SO SICK..

Good Job

great selection. that's the new version of my DDX6019...a little too late, you can change backgrounds and i can't and i have the 9" version of your headrest monitors...didnt have the 11" last year when i bought mine...do yours turn on automatically? i couldn't figure out a way to make mine come on with the car

last question..i'm getting that same bluetooth (BT100 i think?) how did you run the mic up there?! i would be eternally grateful if you could run me through that because that's the only thing keeping from getting it...i'm stumped at how to get the cable up there...never removed the interior from the roof

The monitors do not come on with the car and actually that's the way that I prefer it. I only put them on when I need them. I paid to have everything installed so can't help you with the "how to", sorry. All I can tell you is that you will be very happy once you have the bluetooth installed, call quality is outstanding as is its ease of use.

I have my bluetooth mic in the same spot and all I did was run the wire under the weatherstripping and then pushed it under the pillar cover. No visible wires at all

I just bought my video setup

9 inch Innovatek IN909 headrest Monitors $242.50 ebay
RCA half DIN remote mount DVD player sonicelectronix.com $158.00
NESA Vision 7002 7 inch LCD screen for up front $133.00 ebay
Clarion signal bootser cardomain.com $29.00
Possibly a Clean Sweep by JL Audio $299.00 ABTelectronics.com instead of an FM modulator since I'm not doing a Headunit.

If you do most of the set up and prep work yourself like removing the trim and console and things like that you save a lot on the labor for the install. Labor is going to cost me $55 for just one hour all the shop will do is connect the wiring and I do the rest.

Tight work.. I was thinking about doing the samething but im not sure if it will come out right. I always have some kind of luck that something wrong is going to happen esp the people here dont care about the jobs they do.

When you guys install aftermarket navi, do you lose all the features from the info center (ie. fuel econ etc)?

The CD/DVD slot along with the SD slot (needed when updated maps are available) are located behind the touchscreen.

The info screen still functions, it has to because all your climate controls (most used) are on there...amongst other things!
