Anyone running a 350Z Boomslang Emanage Ultimate harness?

You 6Gs are really lucky to share similar ECU connectors even wiring with the 350Z.
A buddy with a 6G wants an ECU, so I'm trying to talk him into a EU+Vmanage.

I don't know how similar the newer maxima ecus are to the Z. I know the EARLY 2003 Gs had more in common to the maxima vs the 2003.5+ Gs and Zs.
I have an early version so if I want to run one, I have to be careful. I'm liking the UTEC but the EU can be had much cheaper

I saw that too Matt. It's reflash type. Not sure if it suits your DIY tuner needs. But at least reflashes are no charge according to them. Nice not to have to send in the ecu everytime though. Cobb Tuning was supposed to offer something like this also. But I don't believe a releash date is soon. Also it only covers basic Nissan obdII vs Cipher's Nissan specific obdII diagnostics.

Comparing 2003 350Z and 2005 Maxima FSMs, they are virtually the same as far as ECU pins.

I haven't read enough into it but I was under the impression that was the point.
I would rather have access to program a Nissan ECU than to have a EU and a VM. I suppose $700 doesn't get you that ability.

If it did, it would cost $5K or more easy.
Technosquare has a programmer they sell. Al Friedman uses something somewhat similar at Dynoflash.com for EVOs.

Anything can be edited with a Hex Editor. However if the bins are encrypted or compressed somehow, that would be useless and dangerous to the ECU.
You guys be on the lookout on the G forums for people getting these things. I want to take a peak at one of their bins.

You have a pic of the ecu connector straight on? Because from what I see, the gray connector is what I "think" I have. Pic from the G forum:
Gray is G35 early sedan ecu.
Black is for the Unichip that didn't fit. But looks like all the other harness adaptors I've seen for Emanage/UTEC etc...

The gray one in your picture looks about right, ie. it at least looks close to what I have unlike the black one, but I'll take a straight on picture when I get home this evening.

Well idealy, I'd like to find out if a straight patch harness is available. Plug and play.
Did you buy an extra ecu connector from a bone yard? and you are taking those wires and soldering them into a back of an emanage harness connector?
I'd imagine I would have to buy another G35 ecu connector and a patch harness. Then hack the harness to ecu connector off and splice the harnes wires into the G35 connector?

The problem is the male side because it is on the circuit board, so I had to hack apart the ECU to get that part, the left piece in my picture. You can also do it the right way with a solder sucker, but a tapered head wire cutter is as advanced a tool as I have.

That is, create an intermediate patch harness to wire the Emanage harness into, so that I can (1) not mess with my stock harness (2) easily pull the unit on and off and go back to stock if necessary.

If the piggyback is already attached to the patch, you'll have to chop off both connectors of the patch harness and reattach the correct G35 male and female connector to be able to connect the patch to the car. You'd have to match the pins to the wires, so this would actually be a nightmare on an existing patch harness.
Unless I misunderstood the question....

Okay, I see where the confusion is. The Emanage harness is spliced into the patch itself. The patch just creates a "bridge" between the ECU and OEM wire harness that you can tap into. The Emanage harness doesn't touch either connector on the car, but is only connected via the patch harness.
The order is:
OEM ECU -> Patch Harness -> OEM Harness
With the Greddy harness tapped into the patch.
Here's a crude diagram I drew that might help:

I have a EB installed already which replaced my SAFC2. What I was was tap into the main harness (solder and heat shrink). I used 12 pin and a 9 pin harnesses I got from Radio Shack so I can remove the EB main harness a any time.

A good alternative to that is what Dandymax did and use some DB25 connectors which are easy to get, just be sure to double pin most of those because of current draw.

2003 G35 ECU is similar to 2000-2003 Maxima ECU, therefore YOU must make your own like I did.
2005(2004?) Maxima is similar to 2003-2004 350Z, so my buddy could use the BoomSlang/AutoSport/etc..

All A33s and your early V35 have the same connector, as you originally brought to our attention Jeff. But the A34s do have the same connector as the Z33 and later V35s.
However the pinouts for the A33, A33B and early V35 are all different as far as I know. But I haven't exactly confirmed the latter (between A33B and V35).

In short, you're in the same boat as 5/5.5 Gens that have to make their own vs. 6Gs that can buy a 350Z boomslang or similar extension or P-N-P EU harness.
