not sure if the photos vary from the actual item, but the bulb says D2C on it, not D2S like advertised. then again, I don't know a lot about bulbs, so that might not matter..

8000K is very very blue. I would not go above 6000K because anything higher emits a glow that really doesn't agree with the eye. I have 5000k on mine and it has a bluish tint that is very pretty at night and also illuminates the road very well. Go 5000K.

Several people here have referenced Ebay as the place to go to buy the Xenon bulbs, This was all I could find over there.
