MIL trouble codes... please HELP ! ! ! !

Yeah so my check engine light decided to come on with the following trouble codes

p1148-closed loop bank 1

p1168-closed loop bank 2

p1031-Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor Meter

p1051-Air/Fuel Sensor Heater

Guys I'm completely clueless ..... I tried to read about the common problem and it seems that this stuff was written in Nissan language because I'm dumbfounded.....

Here is the link: http://www.nissanhelp.com/Ownership/.../NTB04-024.htm

I have an appt with the stealership tomorrow and I want to be prepared on what they "think" they are going to tell me.

ps: I didnt opt for the extended warrenty and now I'm paying for it

Any information would be GREATLY appreciated !!!!!

Thanks!

Seems pretty clear that you have a problem with one or more of your O2 sensor.

Could be, but I would do some more research before you spend anymore money on O2 sensors. I don't have a service manual available for a 6th gen, but it should tell you based on your codes exactly what sensor is bad. You may also just have a wiring problem.

Hmm, you can find it here too. But yes, seems as if 3 of your 4 O2 sensors are mad for some reason.

sorry for the n00b question, but my engine light's been on for about a week and I was wondering how you get the code? Do you need a laptop and special software?

When I first start the car the AT light comes on for a second, then goes off so I am tending to thing it's related but...

Thanks

P1148 - Bank one does not operate in closed loop
P1168 - bank 2 does not operate in closed loop

Both possible causes are harness and or connectors are shorted or open or a/f sensor or a/f heater is bad.

P1031 - A/F heater control circut too low.....current amperage in A/F heater is out of normal range. same possible causes as above.

P1051 - Same as P1031 except this is bank 2 P1031 is bank one

Go to Auto Zone. They will check it for you for free.

My OBD-II with software cost about $140.00

I'd also consider removing the positive battery terminal for about 30 minutes to clear the codes on your ECU. If you truly have a problem, the codes will come back!!!

Bizarre, as if the O2 sensors are not connected? Has the dealer found something? Bad ground? A melted wire that shorted the circuit?
Curious that both sensors and the MAF would stop working at the same time.
