Grease on rim

My mom has a 2007 and her front passenger wheel is getting a lot of grease build up on the rim. My dad has wiped it to clean it and it is kinda thick and chunky. It is only on that side. Is anyone with an 07 having this problem? Any idea where it can be coming from?

Thanks

Is it making any noises?

Bad wheel bearing maybe?

Check the boot for your CV joint. Perhaps a clamp may have loosened or was not installed correctly. Perhaps the boot ripped. If that is the source of the grease, get to the dealership ASAP. They can fix the boot and repack the CV joint before the inside bearings get damaged.

My bet is on a cut/torn CV boot on that side. I heard of several 04's that had the same issue and it was suspected that the factory cut the boots with a box cutter or something getting them out of the box. Mine was one of them.

no noise...driving fine....when looking at it it looks like brake dust but once you clean it, it is nothing like brake dust. the other 3 rims are fine. Its just that one.

If it was the road i would think that all the rims would be like that.

It's under warranty...

I wouldn't worry, let the dealership handle it.

There is a TSB in the sticky section concerning oil residue on the front brake calipers of the 07's.

I agree. it sounds like a torn or ripped boot to me.
