Car wouldn't start

Yesterday after I stopped at the gas station, when I came out of the store my car would not start. The starter motor would not fully engage and I got the general symptoms you would get when the battery goes dead. I tried jump starting the car but no luck. I ended having the car towed a block to the dealership.

I cannot figure out why the battery would go dead so suddenly or why I could not jump start the car. Any ideas?

I just spoke with the dealer. They said it was a dead battery. I still don't understand why it wouldn't jumpstart.

If the battery had a dead cell this would prevent it from being jumped.

these batteries are droppping like flies. I went through 2 in 3 years. The one I got two weeks ago wouldn't perform so I got my system checked and the tech said my charging is just fine. He also told me that the BOSCH batteries are the worst he has ever seen. He said that BOSCH makes great power tools, sensor etc but their batteries are absolutely worst. He used to work at AutoZone and said people would bring these back all the time sometimes after 3-4 months. Well, I decided to change it before it dies on me too so I took the battery back to the store and the manager said, well we have to test it before we can replace it. Came back in 30 minutes and what do you know, the battery is defective. WOW I was like you sold a defective battery to me!!!

They gave me some attitute so I am getting a full refund and I am going to get the Optima Yellow Cap this time. Its like $140 at Costco.

Unbelievable.

That's why I love my Optima Red Top, 3+ years and still running strong. It's also a sealed power cell so no acid to spill...

Yep I am getting one after work. I don't have the time to build jumpers and extensions so I'll just get either a yellow or red top, one that would allow OEM connections to reach.

Nissan batteries act like they are on a timer, 3 years and done. Matched cells will work near 100% until the last crank, if that's what they use.

or 18 months whichever comes first, hehe

i requested the original to be replaced after 18 months because it was sweating and the replacement nissan OEM with 84 months warranty was dead i little over 17 months. I think it was closed cell/damaged beyond repair.

Thanks, that answers my question. I thought that as long as you can draw on another battery to start the car the condition of your battery doesn't matter.

I just picked up a optima red top with 3 year replacement warranty for $136 at costco. It has 720 CCAs. Put it in and the car is smiling stupid.

Lighter, smaller with good ratings and lots of owner with 5-7 years of expierience.

Dry cell, you can mount it sideways if you wanted and vibration does not harm it.
