What exactly do you like about the Injen? I think a 1 piece Fujita design is superior to the 2 piece Injen design. I think you're going to find most Maxima owners will recommend the Fujita. In fact quite a few switched from Injen to Fujita. I myself own and recommend the Fujita.

Don't listen to these haters Jimmy. I have the Injen and it's an incredible unit. I cannot compare it to the Fujita as I haven't owned one but the Injen unit is disputably one of the hightest quality CAI's out there and is "Dyno-Proven"!! The 2-piece design has it's plus and minus' for sure so I won't dispute that. But the one thing you won't hear the Fujita lovers dispute is the sheer GORGEOUSNESS of the Injen!

FYI this may help as it's what I got.

| Part # | Product | Qty | Price Each | Total |
+------------+---------------------------------------+-----+------------+--------+
| INJSP1946P | Injen SP1946 Polished Cold Air Intake | 1 | 266.95 | 266.95 |
+------------+---------------------------------------+-----+------------+--------+

Subtotal: $ 266.95
Additional Savings: $ -20.00
Shipping Cost: $ 0.00
Tax: $ 0.00
Total: $ 246.95

Except for the fact that the Fujita comes in a polished finish as well and doesn't have a ******* hanging off it either

I beg to differ.

1. Fujita is one piece design - superior, less parts to break, smoother air path

2. Fujita comes in both wrinkled black and polished - sexy either way.

3. Fujita is a dragon, injen is not

4. Just like injen, FUJITA is dyno proven with same or better results.

5. and the most important thing is.....CHERN has switched from injen to FUJITA.

6. #5 is enough reason to get the FUJITA DRAGON.

Seems like that's the general idea. I've been through a whole boatloadf of intakes, and I have gained the most with the chepaest piece, which was an AutoZone cone filter.

Typically available in the ricer aisle.

I wouldn't mind trying to retrofit a Fujita, but the things that gets me is the MAF boltpattern. It would probably be more work than I'm willing to do.

I'm still working on proving the stock airbox is good enough for most if not all applications, just like I've proven the stock 5th gen muffler is not as restrictive ad most people think.

Aside from that though, you guys have it made in the intake world since it seems as if you have more quality options available, so unless you have a thing for dragons, Nismo parts, or like to have the phrase Dyno Porven in your engine bay, it doesn't matter.

I don't want to make a big thing out of this, mostly because there's no point. To each his own and I have absolutely NO doubt that the Fujita is a FINE unit and certainly more price competitive than the Injen. My little "dyno proven" comment was simply sarcasm.

As far as why Chern switched from Injen to Fujita, maybe you should ask why he switched? And if I'm not mistaken, he had the same trouble with mounting breaks on both. Personally, I don't think you could go wrong with either unit, or several others out there. BTW, WTF is Dragon??

You may want to double check his cardomain page where he shows the upgrades to the CAI mounting after breakage.

Whatever the case, get that baby installed and you'll be sounding like this.

Normal Driving with just a hint of growl
Road Test 1

Getting on it
Road Test 2

This one from a dead stop
Road Test 3

LOL the "This one from a dead stop is funny... i thought u were like a 12 second car .. till i saw it was going down hill LOL ...

Both intakes are great... i gues its all on "brand" preference ... they both do the same thing...

fujita 1 piece...

Enjin 2 piece AND includes a ball sack

Fujita $175-$199

Injen $230-$246

Once again.. both are close and sound good and do the same thing LOL...

no need, his bracket on the injen broke off, leaving a hole in the CAI. As far as fujita goes he specificaly didn't have any problems. He kept the extra bracket he made for injen as extra support just in case Fujita bracket was to break.

Yeah I asked Chern and he said it was some type of filtering system as well, which ultimately can't be a bad thing, especially for a daily driver. Now if I were like Deus and at the track? Yeah I'd have a Fujita. Hell, if I did it all over again I'd probably get the fujita as well but I'm definitely very happy with the Injen unit. p.s. thanks for clarifying Xoomer.

First off Injen is a true CAI like the Fujita and Nismo. Second, I have been fortunate to of owned both and would rate both fairly equal, especially the updated Injen as compared to the one I put on my car over 3 years ago, I now run with the Dragon but I still have tons of love for the Injen. And no one use the broken shock mounts as an excuse to like Fujita more, because the Fujita ones are slowly starting to fail also, that's why I custom fabbed my own bracket. Leaned this trick from my Injen days... Go with what you like bro, the Dyno numbers will still be about the same...

Just as an FYI, the injen doesn't convert to a short ram without buying parts and modifying. Even though its a 2 piece you cant just take the lower half off and connect the filter to the upper half unfortunately. If you want a short ram go with the Berk intake... I have the injen and its nice but the short rams sound better IMO. I kinda miss the Berk I had on my 02se.
