2007 Spoiler installation

Hello everyone. Have not posted in a while. This morning tried to install the 07spoiler on my Max and things didn't turn out as clean and easy as I was hoping for. When the 04-06 lip is removed there are FIVE holes, not THREE as noted on some threads I have read. Secondly, it is a pain in the behind to remove the adhesive holding the lip (even after removing the three bolts). The good thing is I was already expecting to have a Body Shop fill the holes and re-paint the trunk, so this morning I dropped the car off and will have it back by Wednesday. Hope this helps if any1 else was thinking of doing this mod. Cost of the project: $110 painted spoiler from Ebay -- $530. for the body shop to do the trunk, install the spoiler and connect the brake light.

You should post more often, this is a well documented problem that has been posted many time before...

The car looks hot though...

Thanks Chernmax. Your ride looks hot as well. Is your car the most pimped out car in this org?
By the way, excellent choice of color

My SL does not have any type of spoiler. Do you guys think I should go with the 04 Lips or the 07 spoiler, or just leave as is?

How hard would it be to just install the 07 spoiler if there was no original factory lip on my MaX?

Hey Ramberg, is that pic with brand new zinc coated rotors or did you just clean them. If you just cleaned them please let us know how ya did it. Mine could use some brake rotor cleaning tips!

Those must be new rotors w/ fresh zinc plating, you can see the original rotor scoring (near perpendicular marks) when the rotors are machined by the manufacturer!

I'm going to be putting the 2007 spoiler on my 2007 that has no spoiler now. My question is, when I remove the third brake light from the rear window, will I need to recover the rear deck? I.E., will it show holes or anything?

I think there's a block plate already made for the hole you can buy. I just left my third brake light in!

PS this thread is almost 4 years old!!!

My first post here....I'm looking to purchase and install a 2007 spoiler on my red 2004 SL. Looking at ebay for the spoiler but wonder if the following ebay listings are pretty much the same spoiler just different costs and different vendors:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_5568wt_958

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_1060wt_732

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_1179wt_699

Any tips for ordering a spoiler off of ebay? Particular ebayers that are trustworthy?

Thanks for all help!

They're probably all about the same. I would probably buy the last one you have listed. It's in the middle of the 3 price wise, but the seller has the best feedback of the 3. I may buy one of these myself!

Has anyone put one of these on an 04-06 SE and left the factory lip installed? If so, I'd like to see pics! I would like to put one on but don't want to take my lip off and deal with the adhesive and the holes that would be left behind. Please post pics if you've done this!

Thank you!!

I want to do the spoiler and change the grille.

Got a set of 18" TSW Vairanos on their way.

I think those small upgrades go a long way to improving the look of a Max.
