Will g35 19" staggered rims fit in my 04 Max?
I just bought the 19" staggered rims that come off of 05 g35 coupes. I have read a little about staggered causing inderstear and how you cant rotate the tires? First off I am not to clear on EXACTLY what staggered means! Also I am wondering if these wheels will fit or if I will need to off set them? Any imput would be great, thanks guys
|
Staggered = In this case means, that the rear wheels are wider than front wheels. You can't rotate them for obvious reasons. Although you could because some of the new LS4 equipped GM's come with wider front tires than the rear, being that they are FWD.
Unless your car is RWD, staggered, IMO, is a :nono:. But, since you already bought the wheels, :gotme: Why not make them work and toss them on. |
Well dont the se maxima come with 245/45/18 in the back and 225/45/18 for the front, wouldnt that mean that they are staggered? I could be wrong, also do you think they will rub in the back?...

Do you think I will need to offset them or they will be ok?
|
just put them on they will fit fine but put the wider ones on the rear, 1 or 2 guys on the org have staggered wheels on their rides.
look on the inside of the rims, 2 should say 8 inches wide and the other should say 8.5 inches wide |
They will run fine. Throw 'em on. I'm running 18x8's front and 18x8.5's in the rear. I had 225s on the front and 245's in the rear but the 225's were terribly uncomfortable so I now have 245/45/18's all the way around, even though my rear wheels are still wider. Seriously though, you won't have any problems running these as the M35/M45 also comes with 19" similar wheels and clearance/body type is nearly identical.
|
Mack, will the 8.5 fit on the front, I want a wider stance but want to keep an OEM sleeper look
|
MACK, Yeah the rear ones are 245/40/19 and the fronts are 225/40/19, when you say your 225 in the front were really uncomfortable, what do you mean?
|
I bought the car used and the idiot didnt give me the key to the factory wheels, how should I go about taking the factory wheels off cause I cant wait to get the new ones on!
|
i have them and they fit fine.
|
do you have any pics of how the wheels look on the Max? I have not been able to find a pic online with the wheels I just bought.

I always thought that 225 = width of the tire 40= profile of the tire?

meaning? because the tires say 245/40/19 and 225/40/19 and the profile of the tires are the same just the width in tires is diff so I figured that the 225/245 is the width?
|
|
225 means it's 225mm measured from sidewall to sidewall. Less equals lower profile tire, therefore rougher ride. the 40 (in 225/40/19) means 40% of the tire is sidewall. Again lower the # lower the profile. 19 of course is wheel size.
By the way bro, goto the dealer part center and ask them to sell you a wheel lock key (assuming the wheel locks you have are stock). I lost mien and they matched one up for me and it was $20. Worth every penny. |
I fit 4 20s with tires AND 4 new tires in my Max. :gotme: ur 19s should fit easily inside ur car :hide:
check out the how-to sticky for all ur tire needs. (though may have to play with the links :nervous: |
Great tech info Nmex.

The profile of a tire is the percentage of a tire's width. The profile is the sidewall. The width is in millimeters. Divide millimeters by 25.4 to convert to inches.
For example...225/40/19 has a sidewall of 3.54 inches and 245/40/18 has a sidewall of 3.85 inches. Here's why-.4 (40%) times 225 equals 90 millimeters. 90 millimeters divided by 25.4 equals 3.54 inches. Remember, sidewall is all your rim has between it and the somtimes rough roads and potholes. |
My link:
http://www.tirerack.com/images/tires...tire_dimen.gif Width x Aspect Ratio = Section Height Section Height x 2 = Combined Section Height Combined Section Height + Wheel Diameter = Tire Diameter Example: 185/60R14 85H or 185/60HR14 185mm x .60=111mm 111mm x 2=222mm 222mm + 355.6mm(14")= 577.6mm or 22.74" The first number is the width of the tire in millimeters, measured from sidewall to sidewall. To convert to inches, divide by 25.4 In the example above, the width is 185mm or 7.28". The second number is the aspect ratio. This is a ratio of sidewall height to width. In the example above, the tire is 7.28" wide, multiply that by the aspect ratio to find the height of one sidewall. In this case, 185x0.60=111mm or 7.28"x0.60=4.36". The last number is the diameter of the wheel in inches. To figure the outside diameter of a tire, take the sidewall height and multiply by 2,(remember that the diameter is made up of 2 sidewalls, the one above the wheel, and the one below the wheel) and add the diameter of the wheel to get your answer. |
I run on staggered setup with 245/45/18 tires. My rims are 18x8 front and 18x9 rear. It looks awesome but you can't rotate. Well you can, but you have to removed, reinstall and re-balance all tires. Thats $80.00 every time I'd do it. If you rotate as recommended that can add up to a cost of a new tires. Pain in the butt if you ask me but looks awesome. ANyhow, I've got NISMOs sitting in the basement already waiting to buy new rubber and put them on so that won't be an issue anymore.

I just brought my car to a nissan dealer who said they had to pull the locked lug nuts off because I dont have a key. They said it would cost over 100 dollars. Is the case with all nissan dealers or was this one just trying to screw me or didnt have the universal key that I have been hearing about? Anyother ways to pull these off because I dont have the key?

im sorry I thought I answered you question here.
here goes again though you'll be fine. I put the 8.5s in the front, they sit flush with the fender. I gave up on the m45 wheels for two reasons, 1 they are heavy as he ll, and the offset on them is nuts, I think they are like 55 or something like that, wich will require a 1" spacer wich may cause problems. so thanks but no thanks, http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...4071157jpg.jpg |
Nice it looks good, thats just what I have b4 the tints and the cross drilled rotors. How does it ride with the 225 in the front and 245's in the back?

MAX2DAMAX, did you lower your car. Also how much did your rotors cost?

Bro, is your wheel lock a NISSAN wheel lock? If so, they can match one there for you and it's around $20 for the key. I've bought 2 of them at my dealer. If it's not a NISSAN key then yeah they would probably charge you extra for taking off each one, then you'd have to purchase a new set of lug nuts and a key set.

Its a factory lock, so I assume there factory wheels. I bought the car used so I am not 100% sure but even when I told the guy that they were factory wheel locks he still said they had to do a bunch of stuff and it was going to be $130
|
ok thanks for your help
|
I didnt have to lower the car, I have the 8.5s in the front and the 8s in the rear, FWD, so you would want the wider tire up front, and since is only .5 difference you cant tell so doesnt look weird.
rotors with pads were like 250 on ebay, (anything is better than stock rotors) |
