I only use tiptronic. During city driving, I'll pump through each and every gear before 2500 rpms so as to keep the fuel consumption down. On the highway, I'll roll up to about 3000 rpms. If I feel like cracking the whip though, then I'll roll the rpms right up to redline and that is so much fun!!!!

can u still hold the gear in by holding the shifter down, like in the 04-06 sportronic, in the CVT ??

whoa you can do that? i never tried with the CVT

it sounds kind of abusive though... i can imagine it bouncing off the rev limiter.

If you hold the shifter down to keep the rpms going further into redline you are going to eventually cause transmission damage. Its already proven. Search around the forums somewhere, its been talked about.

lol, ive only done it ONCE in 1st gear for like a second and thats it. Sounds awesome, but it hasnt proven to have any advantage in performance. If anything it probably hurts the performance because power starts to dip down close to that rpm.

Looks like you can order the 2007 Hood and Bumper for like $290 and $170 respectively. Seems like with paint this could be done for around $700 or $800.

I tap my 7100 limiter at east once daily, 96k on the clock. I tapped the 7200 limiter on my 4th gen more than once daily and it has 236k, if it gave way now, I would still call it a win.

I think some of the older CVTs, you can go just as fast in reverse as forward. Why not, just change direction of the belt?

better 1/4 mile times in reverse, since, technically, it would be RWD.
