Painted Headlights

Well I finally decided to take the plung and paint the headlights. I used everybody's favority Krylon Fusion. Took some time masking the lights using an xacto knife but I love the way they came out. I will install them this weekend, then take more pics. I still might add some demon eyes. Trying to convince myslef to spend the 150.00 for them, not to mention I already have a million wires coming out of the lights with the HID fogs as well as the LED switchbacks.

My understanding is that they aren't different than Angel Eyes (Halo Rings). It all depends on whether you're feeling naughty or nice!

So the modification continues, out goes the amber reflectors in goes the clear ones that I fabricated from a piece of prismatic plastic. I have something else in the works for these lights. I will post pics one the mod is complete.

Theres a lens on your xenon projector that you can swap out for a clear one thatll give you more output and more color. Thats all. www.hidplanet.com/forum then you can read up on it and they can explain it a lil better.

So the modding of the lights continues. Tonight I did a rough install of my new angel eyes as well as a new modification of the side reflector. Let me know what you think and again just a rough install, nothing has been epoxied into place yet.

Yeah I agree... They do look rather small. What about the actual kit that is selling for the Max? Or did you buy those before learning of the kit?

No, that was someone else.

I can see why he said they were small. Our headlights aren't concentric circles, so it wouldn't look right putting them around the outside edge (like most lights). I see whey Umntiza chose to put them on the inside, thus making them a little small. Still a good fit though.

You are using the thinline CCFL rings? Interesting choice....

Try taping the back of the rings with aluminum tape, it will block light leakage around the area.

How did you go about testing the lights outside of the car? Did you use a DC/AC hookup?

Ok here's the scoop guys, I am currently working with a vendor out of New Orleans to produce CCFL angel eyes for our headlights. The ones I have installed above were just for fitment testing. I have sent them a headlight and they are now currently designing halos that will follow the shape of our lights. I am seriously considering becoming a vendor for theses guys and doing retrofits for other 6th geners. I am trying to gauge interest from other members as to if they would be intrested in this product. The retrofits will consist of the halos, painted housings, as well as the clear side markers and CCFL lighting behind them. Please let me know if interested. I will try to keep the entire cost under 250.00. Once the new halos arrive I will post pics of the finsihed product.

-WoW those lights blacked out look freakin great, specially if you're having some angel eyes specially done for our headlamps. I was recently thinking about tinting or smoking my headlamps but if you get this running I'll defenetly be interested! Nice work
