9006 And you will hate the 8k cant see SIHT! Go with 4300k or 5k not as blue but you can see a hell of alot more.

Show=Go with 8k head-lights, LED switch-back day-time lights (look exact to 8k lights)

"GO"=3k fogs FTW!

I think that would look hawt and the 3k will give you more visibility

hmmmmm I'm pretty sure that you will either have halogen "high" beams, and HID normal beams, OR they might be all one bulb with a "flap" that opens them up for the high beams...

Someone chime in because I want to make sure as well

I dunno how the 6th headlights are but if ur highbeams are a seperate bulb then no you wouldnt, if its the same, you would need bixenons to have a high and low.

Factory HID comes with a single bulb. For high beams a curtain flips up exposing the upper portion of light emmited from the bulb. As far as I know, The curtain is part of the assembly/housing and not of the bulb. God, I am glad I got HIDs from factory.

What if you take a 04 max without xenon and you put a conversion kit in it?

There is no cut off and so you will blind everyone like hell???

I didnt have factory hids and the headlight housing is the same. Projector housing has a flap and it tilts to shine the light upwards.

D2S is the size you want. I had factory HID's, but I changed out to 6k bulbs. IMO, they look much nicer, and are still very bright...

Well it depends if you are a 6th gen with projectors then you do have a cutoff but you have halogen projectors. They wont be as good as oem but should be better than you halogen setup.

Honestly a kit is a kit.The only ones that really last are oem. But a kit can be had on ebay for 79 bucks shipped. i have had mine for almost a year and a half and its still working so i mean its kinda hit and miss.

well one way that you can find out what bulb you have is to pull one of your headlight bulbs and look at it.

For the 6th gen Maxima if you:

Have factory HIDs - you use a D2S bulb
No factory HIDs - you need a 9006 HID kit, buy it fom the group buy section, support a sponsor

No you will not blind anyone because the actual projector in the headlight is the same in factory HID and non-HID.

when everyone says kit and I go to this site and I see a box with looks like some power supplies and ****, so if i'm not mistaken I need a kit to add some HID's to my 07 max SE with factory head lights, which I think are some type of HID but not the bright blueish purpleish lights? I can't just by a bulb and call it a day?

It is but it aint . Same code but different bowls between the 2. Still wont blind anyone but not going to be as wide either.

LOL, yes you are right. But if talking to people who don't know what light bulbs they use, I think omitting projector bowl differences will simplify things more.

the cutoff on the halogen projectors isn't too bad. i made the swap to HID back in april. 9006 4300k kit bought from a sponser here.

it's not as sharp as other projectors though.

o so u like those ? they are nice but for you 6th gen guys you could use them., Now one thing you could look into if you are have lighting savvy would be to get a clear lens for your projector. That will clean up your cutoff and give you more color also.

Please visit www.hidplanet.com/forums and they can help you as well as i . Im a member there also. if you do a search there you will find some of my posts on the e55 and others as well.

Ok guys, I have a question. Apparently I can't start a new thread yet since I am new here but I'm coming from a BMW with factory HID to this maxima without. If I was to get some OEM '07 maxima headlight assemblies with HID, will they plug right into the non-HID harness or is there something else that I would need to change? I really don't want to go the aftermarket HID kit route because I did that to a previous car and it just didn't compare to the OEM light pattern that was on the BMW. Thanks in advance for any answers.

I'm new to the forum and I have a 05 Max with HID.

Please tell me that I will be able to just purchase some 8K HIDs and pop them right in? I'm looking to purchase some this weekend from xtralights.com. Or does anyone in the Washington DC area know a store where I can purchase some?

Please advise and thanks!

Anyone have pics of their 3k fogs? I was looking at my stock fogs the other day and they look hideous compared to the stock HID headlights.
