Im waiting for them to give me the info for us to call in and give the deposit.

So hopefully by tomorrow I will have more details.

This is for getting the Vented hood made.

If we would want the OEM or Scoop hood we would need 10 deposits for EACH of those to get made.

Okay I got this update from them this morning.

The price is $799 MSRP for the Carbon Creations Vented Hood. Because you guys are buying in bulk, we can offer a discount of 25% off the MSRP and sell the individual hoods for $599 + shipping. Deposits are non-refundable and would be $150 a person. Here is our shipping rates for hoods (we ship worldwide):

ok - I am interested in this. HOWEVER, before my name goes on the list I need to ask: what if I send the non-refundable deposit and say we only get 9 names on the list. Would I still be guaranteed the hood regardless of how many people sign up? Or, I guess the better question would be at what time is the deposit due?

I was adviced by them to get the 10 names first. Then we will collect the deposits from those 10. Like that we dont have a problem of this project falling through. As soon as we get those deposits in the production will start.

So they are ready and willing to go! We have 41 people that voted for this and only 2 have signed up for it???

And we wonder why we cant anything made for our cars

I'll take a set in red please. Oh, wait. These are not the LED tail-lights - sorry. I had forgotten it looks like those will only be available year 2020.
Anyways, slap my name on your CF hood list boy!!!!!

Refer to my "Why 6th Genners are afraid to modify" thread

If you want deposit funds kept in a trust account, I offer to use my attorney trust account for that purpose.

I agree - but if we can get 25% off thru a group deal that's a big discount
Or I have another idea! We buy one hood for $800 bucks or whatever it is and we share! We each keep the hood for a month at a time!

I would have to see the final product before dropping any $$$. I am interested but frankly with recent (or not so recent) Pre-Order fiasco expirienced right on this forum I doubt many will be dropping anything as a downpayment.

Don't get me wrong, people dropped about $90.00 bucks for a Strut Tower Brace and some were ready to drive up to Canada and hang TAZ over it. That was only 90 bucks, you see anybody dropping $300 on non existing product. There is a thread on NYCMaximas how people pre-paid for certain product and months later they are still out of money, some way more then $300. If this was a local store then its one thing. Pre-paying online gives you absolutely zero protection. As time passes you loose your ability to fight anything with CC or PayPal as both have a time limit on how late you can file for it.

25% is a huge discount but I personally feel it is still rather too steep. I feel that 6th gen would perferably go for 22" or something instead of this kind of mod.

you hit the nail on the head...

+1 on seeing a final product...not just a chop...

for 600 i would rather put it towards a knetix mani...

....

But... maybe a final pic will sell me on this... anyway.. good luck...

Oh man - THANK GOD that the LED tail-lights are not dependent (I think/I hope) on a group commitment, otherwise we would be dead on the water as well!!!! It would be just like here - 42 people voted and only 3 buyers. Why bother casting your vote then ....

What came first the chicken or the egg, if this company made 10 hoods and offered them for sale right now, all 10 would be gone, including me I would buy one. But I'm in agreement with most others, I buy made products or I wait, way to many pre-order broken promises and blown away time lines and for me over a 4 year period I tend not to play that game any more. Build it and I'll buy it, the company needs to take more risk than the customer. Last, if this company truly believes it can make a quality hood that it can sell, make 10 and see how fast they fly off the self. Between the Org, 6thGenmaximas and NYCMaximas not to mention other Max sites, they will have ZERO loss because these hoods will sell...

Hmmm.... you have a good point there Chernmax. Had not tought about that before. But then again, every car that I owned before this Maxima had a modding rich environment. Lucky me for buying a car that I loved how it looked from the first minute I saw it..... I guess I just forgot to do my homework when it came to see what modding resources were available .

yeah, if the companies make it, people will buy it..no one wants to have to put money down, and then wait for it to be made..one of these companies needs to just take the risk and make stuff, and they'll see that everything will sell..

Great point. Someone needs to show this thread to the manufacturer.
