Transmission Click

Has anyone experienced this. Just before the car comes to a complete stop, I can hear and feel a muted click for the gear shifter. It only started ( or I only noticed it ) last week. I also feel it just as the car starts moving from a stand still, before the tranny shifts. BTW, I have an 04 w/ 50K.

BTW, would anyone know why I would have 'Banned' against my profile. I don't post that much and I have been around since '99.

The click could be a few difernet things the torque converter could making it or one of your axles could be slipping, trannys are not my thing but theses is a plave to start.

I'm pretty sure what you are hearing is the transmission shifter reverse lock out. It will allow you to shift into Neutral while moving, but not let you go past it into Reverse.

i started experiencing that same thing like a month or so now every time you are slowing down to a stop you hear the click and if your hand is on the shifter you can feel it also. I've been debating taking it to the dealer but i want to do the trany flush first that they recommended and after that then it's "all hell break loose" with me and them for any trany problems. You still have powertrain warranty left so i would say for you to take it to the dealer and let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the responses. Yes, the dealer was my next step. I will try to do it very soon. I will update with any developments
