Active Tuning Grille w/ Chrome vice Mesh??

Hey peeps!!

I was considering getting the Active Tuning grille and removing the mesh and cutting out the chrome grille I have and placing this in. I think the active tuning grille loooks amazing and would look great w/ a chrome body. But I was hoping that maybe someone can do a chop on the grille below to see what it could look like with the Active Tuning all in one.

Thanks a lot for the chop on the pics. I do like Cherns grille a lot!! Thats what made me think of getting it. But I also feel I need chrome to match more. Here is a side shot and I think the black mesh would clash with the chrome molding on the side. Also.... What do you guys think of the chrome molding? My Ol' lady made me get them. lol

IMO the chrome will still look hot and may even pop out at you more because the rest of the car will be given a more low key but aggressive look (people tell me my front grill alone is reason most cars move over to let me pass), just get a chrome emblem for the front grill for the tie-in, people will better notice key points of your car with the proper blend of color and chrome accents verse 360 degree chrome. Your ride will look a notch higher IMO. Still your ride and choice...

Your new black tie-in will be the front grill, tires, side window area with tint, and the eyelids. Again suggestion...

Last I would remove the long chrome strips along the doors, distracts from focusing in on those bad a$$ rims. Door handle chrome looks cool...

Hmmmm

It does make sense. I never thought about the windows also helping the blend. I dont want the front to look "racey" though. I think your set up looks great and matches because the bumper supports your grilles look. You dont think it would look "racey"?

LOL!! I have to leave the strips though cause the mrs likes them. I think they are "ok" But please dont tell her that. She loves them.

I like your chrome idea, I was thinking of doing the same thing next year with the AT grill. I would get their mesh and have it chromed. I think you gotta stick with your theme, maybe paint your bumper insert to match your car though. If you go with the black grill, leave the bumper insert black. Looks good. I like your chrome strips but would like to see a better pic.

IMO, stick with the chrome. But then again, you can tell that's what I like.

I'd like to see someone chop the JDM VERTICAL BLACK GRILL on a car.

I like the idea of somehow (did I spell that right? LOL) having the black mesh look chrome!! Great freaking idea!!!

I am gonna look around for a shop that hopefully can do it.

Yeah I am with you on the chrome look.

Here is the best pic I have on the chrome mold

Hey Grim, I like it! What you are looking for is called black chrome. My wheels come in a black chrome and I've seen them up close. That would look good on your car.

Here is a pic of black chrome wheel so you get the idea:

07+ Grille?

Does anyone have a clue whether or not Active Tuning is going to be making a grille for the revised front end? I really like that look on the 04-06's.

No, mine are straight chrome but they do come in a black chrome. That came out after I already had mine. I think it would look good on a grill for your car or mine, I just don't know if my local shop can do black chrome if I brought them a grill. I like the black chrome put IMO it just doesn't "pop" as much as the regular chrome.

Still waiting for some to do that photo shop of the vertical grill.

Oops.

IMO the black chrome would look decent in the front as long as the lower bumper still remains black. I didnt color my eyelids for that reason alone so that the front would show more black. I am starting to agree with Chern now when I think about it... I do think the normal Active Tuning in Diamond Mesh would look fantastic as long as black remains in the front.

Anyone have the Active Tuning with black Mesh and also have chrome rims?

Maybe an angular shot showing both???

Man Apollos that first pic of your car is slammin!!!

Imho this grille has potential!! It probably looks better in black.
But I will just wait until someone else buys this and puts on their car. That way I am not wasting 80 bucks. So, who will be the first?

GrimMax - Just ordered my S4.1 Grile (the same one as Chern's) yesterday from Active Tuning. It cost $332 bucks -a little high in price I believe, but from what I have read it is high quality (lets hope!). If you do decide to buy from the above Ebayer, be careful. His feedback rating is going down, down, down daily (just like the Miami Dolphins ).

Actually a great price considering it also comes color matched and you can install it on your ride right from the box. Time is money also...

Does Active Tuning sell the grille just primed? If so, how much do you think it would cost?

I just picked this up on ebay yesterday. Guess I'll be the guinea(sp?) pig on this one! I'll be sure to let everyone know how good the quality is.

Looks like a AT copy to me but who cares; as long as the quality is descent...
