Chernmax phase 2.5

OK, 3 additional mods I needed to work on were completed today:

- AEM Wide Band Monitor was installed
- Rear Wilwood 4 piston BBK with 12.9" two peice rotors
- New Stinger battery Terminals

I have to add 2 additional tasks to phase 2.5. One mod was from an outstanding Org member who identified 1 small oversight (I love this site!!).
LOL, with my 360 degree Wilwood BBK setup my spare donut no longer fits any wheel. Solution, on order is a full size O.Z. 18x8 rim with current BFG tire that I will now carry in the full spare in the rear. Once received I will then custom cut out the rear carpeting so the trunk will consist only of the Optima Red Top battery and a full size rim/tire racing spare. My junk in the trunk!!!

Last, I will get the car Dyno Tuned and call it a phase (2.5 will then move to phase 3, body and paint).

On a side note, one of the best parts about this project(s) is the 6th gen has somehow bridged the gap with our older gen brothers and some are switching gens or just clapping at our successes. As styling, performance, and handling mods finally catch up to our Gen, we get looked at in a different perspective. I will never thumb my nose at anyones ride or mods, I respect their goals, this is just my hobby and after 24 years in the military, 13 years as a Missile Systems Technician alone, I needed a hobby to get my head below Mach 1!!!

Peace bro's and in closing, the 6th Gen may be a boat, mine was recently reclassified as a Hydrofoil!!!

Last, last in closing, I'm adding the VID's I took to the bottom of this post to consolidate for new members or members joining the thread...

You are the man chris

Its unreal how much you have done. Your car really needs to be on front page of import tuner or something brotha.

You really cant hear the turbo in the Max!! I actually like that.

How fast were you going in the vids?

You dirty little **** you!

What offset do your wheels have? Did you need any spacers after the BBK install?

With my O.Z. HT Comp rims (144mm offset) I didn't need spacers but I bought them just in case . Since I already had the EiBach 5mm spacer kit I added them for and overall 1" wider car stance which I love, more flush with the fender, better turning feel, not so overbearing on the axles which I like...

LOL, I said I !!!

What are you talking about, I purchased a new cupholder for my wifes SUV recently!!!

As for paint, I'm just redoing the front bumper and hood (4 years of misc rock chips). The cars roof will be Onyx black and I'm adding a JDM style roof spoiler. Stay tuned...

Subscribing......

Have you actually entered any competitions? Do you have any plans for showing her?

With as fast as that turbo will get you going, I could see why you upgraded your brake kit.

How far will you take it? I mean, what are the plans when you are "truely finished"? (Like that ever happens).

Also, it seems wild that you went from entertaining the idea of selling her to doing all of this within a few months time. You really jump in with both feet, don't you?

I bet selling her, isn't on the top of that list anymore, is it?

I love the sound of a turbo. Superchargers sound is too high pitched for my likes.

Trunk mounted batteries need an external battery disconnect in order to pass tech at the track....

No competitions, strictly a hobby, in the almost 4 years I have owned her I have never entered her in a car show. I do my thing and go...

As for the brakes, shaving weight off the car while decreasing a cars stopping distance is always a great investment, and I absolutely love the look!!!

No future plans, as my bro Ramberg always states: "A day at a time"

As for changing ones mind, I was considering getting an Infiniti M45, I had about 15K plus my trade-in (Red Heat) or just right out sell her; anyway since my car was paid off I thought about it and envisioned what 15K could do for a Max (that's not how much I have spent but it would have been gone for the M45 anyway) You know the rest of the story...

Thanks for the feedback, It's actually 2 gauge (bigger than ground wiring kits). But I'll look into it...

If I knew it was going to feel this good, I would have done it years ago simply for the thrill value, unfortunately it took 4 years of modding waiting for the right parts to become available to wake this Dragon Up!!!

Chern! One word "Spectacular", love the ride bro, very appealing.
Hay! While I've got your attention, just elaborate briefly on how those coilovers truly feel; basically when your driving rough terrain. Because I'm really considering Coilovers, just want a honest opinion on how they feel going over bumps & rough terrain. OH! Did I mention that the ride looks "Spectacular". Hollaback.........

I do not recommend coilovers for rough or bumpy terrain, if your normal driving environment are smooth roads then coilovers are perfect and the feel (handling in turns, takeoffs and stops are flat!!!) And for the money coilovers cost you can get a set of Koni Struts (front) and KYB 8-way adjustable gas shocks (rear) with a set of Eibach or Progressive lowering springs, Racingline F/R Endlinks and Stillen or Progress rear anti-sway bar with a Stillen or Racingline FUSB and your handling will be almost equal in handling without compromising to much of the ride quality. (of course whatever you already have, scratch off the recommended list)

Tire size also has an affect on ride quality so I did stay with 18's, the bigger size you go, the more road vibration the gets transmitted through the vehicle. Good Luck

LOL, actually we get more Maximas at our annual RCP BBQ in DC then Maxus got last year, and the first picture was taken after about 20+ other Maxes had left. Always an awesome meet every year (DC, VA, MD crew).
