Getting 05' Engine replace!!!

They told me it might be a rod!!! ....i was wondering if anyone else had problems with this? I know its covered under warranty but DAMN...a rod?!!! Thats BS...

Anyway it has knockin coming from the engine which is why i brought it in, in the first place....well that and also cuz there is a bird like chirpping noise coming from the engine as well...Well at least they are changing out the whole engine and i dont have to change my belts now haha (tryin to stay optimistic about it)

Good luck getting your car back within 2 weeks. Must have been a bad noise for them to just replace the whole engine. Maybe that dealership is just bored.

I'll buy your old engine if you're willing to sell for semi cheap.

I pretty sure i will not have the option to get the engine myself...they will most likely sell it themselves so they dont really lose much.

haha...im suprised they didnt say it was all ur aftermarket stuff that caused the problem...

I cant wait to have a brand new motor...my baby is gonna be brand new

BTW i have to drive this 07' Sentra...car sucks of course but i do like the new shiftless tranny in it!....i knew the new maximas had it but didnt know the sentra do too....when i stomped it to get on the freeway it the rpm's just stayed at like 6,000 without shifting....it is pretty sweet...i can only imagine what its like with a real engine

So they didn't give you BS about the engine problems being caused by your aftermarket mods? I want to start modding my 6th gen once I get it, but I'm afraid the dealer might give me trouble if concerning this.

The car itself will wear out before the engine

It is nice that Nissan took care of it with a minimum of hassle.

I threw a rod in after a dealership had done some major engine work and they replaced it but when it threw the rod it sounded like a tiny person inside of the engine with a huge sledgehammer. It was very loud just like someone pounding one of those metal spikes in to the ground with a sledgehammer.

Good luck and I hope it all works out and hopefully if things do go wrong they are still covered under warranty. I wonder what this would have cost if it came out of pocket.

Oil consuption, I'm sure you guys have all heard of it. I was going through 2 quarts a week. It was so bad I had to drive the car with the windows down( Nov-Dec last year FN cold man) Any way the enigine was shot. The last time I brought it in for them to check the oil level there was none bone dry ( Accually like a 1/2 a quart of oil) So that day they kept it and gave me a rental. URG I got a lumina ****y car but they paid for it and swapped my motor oh BTW engine only had 12k on it when it was replaced.
