Max traded in, pics of new ride...

Just wanted to share some pics of the E46 with sport and lux package. I love being back in the BMW. Thought some of the old school 6th gen guys who remembered me would enjoy them. Lets just say nice to have a car with tons of mods to do. Spent alot on the custom silver carbon fiber interior....not overlays like the Maxima. BMW Motorsports mods, CSL spoiler, keyhole delete, Harmon Kardon stereo upgrade, black leather sport seats. Front and rear STB, M3 hyper silver rims with sport rims as a spare. XM radio, rain sensor wipers, DSC traction control, Ipod aux jack, silver and grey BMW emblems all around. Still many more mods in the mail. Do I miss the Max....in a way, do I miss the grunt of the Max...yep, but love the sport suspention on the BMW and the way it drives.

Full carbon fiber grill, bi xenon adaptive headlights....

CSL spoiler..

M3 rims and new tires....not good in the snow....

Nissan dealer can still not get rid of my 04 I got 17K for trade in. They finally removed the 20" rims and put OEM SE rims on it....still not selling, also out of warranty with a non functional HVAC system, they never checked it out. Now just trying to figure out what to do with the 1500 watt Kenwood amp, 2 farad cap, and the 2 12" Pioneer subs, they sure as hell will not fit in the BMW. Good luck all and enjoy the cars. Do what makes you happy, care less about the others who say something sucks. Kinda miss you guys.

323,325,330??? It's a nice looking ride. I almost signed off on a 330xi before I bought my 04 SE. The only thing that stopped me from buying the BMW was the maintenance. I didn't want to deal with it. It's a better car overall than the max and I hope you enjoy it very much!

"M3 rims and new tires....not good in the snow...."

For what you spent on mods you prob could have got another Max to beat on daily. Nice car, good color too. Hard to beat bay-em-vay handling.

Give me 50K and get the 1000 tune to take that sucker over M3 power. Now, just happy with my gutless 325, and suspention plus parking that makes me happy. Not as fast as the Max....miss that but will tear it up in the corners. Damn....love having mod options again and the lux the Max never really came through with. Trading in the 04 I got new about 30K right when it came out....then getting 17K from Nissan....after the warranty went out....and pcoming 1.5K HVAC bill out of warranty...had to jump on this. Compared to the BMW....the Max is a beast....quality, fun to drive...parking...the max is a boat. Just my 2 cents, 2x Maxima owner as well. Wish it was a 330xi in the snow out here...but I love my RWD again....and getting in a car that has a market for mods....lots...Take care guys and may the road rise with you....as PIL said.

3rd BMW owner here and the Max cost more in MX for me....all 3 BMW's were used.....1st Max used....second Max....bought the 04 new with steering wheel wabble.....tired of that stuff. 2 sets of tires, Shift **** fell off at 13 miles.....every time I drived the Max....my bosses thought I was on drugs or something from the steering wheel shake. Nissan after 2 times just told me to shut up and color......I got some crayons....changed the color. Dumped the issues on Nissan and picked up the BMW from Nissan.....nothing better than that. Now, the 04 has the 20" rims off it, they can not sell it. Just rotting on the lot....again.....1 year ago, offered about 10K.......someone offers me 17K at Nissan.....then tells me the have no luck with exotics or euro cars..and wanted to auction off the BMW.....I did well. Nice to have a car that does not shake and parks easy.....Just my 2 cents....and not ragging on the Max, was a nice car...but I did trade in a BMW 328 convert for it.....funny thing....Nissan finance guy snapped up my 328 vert trade for his wife.....go figure.

Again, no hate for the Max....just glad to be out of it. Been a long time member since I got the 6th gen new..........glad to be back in my 3rd BMW and NEVER going back to Nissan....have a good one all! Best wishes and may your Max live wabble free and many miles. Also for the guys that liked the E46 BMW....these things are dirt cheap now since the E90. Now.....my dream...E90 335 with a Dinan tune on the twin turbos. Would take that over a M3......I guess.....LOL.

Nice looking BMW and it has a lot of nice equipment already on it. The only thing for me with 2 kids is 4 doors > 2 doors. There is a nice silver 06 BMW 525 at my Nissan dealership for 30G's and they cant get it sold... I thought about it but I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel of my car payments and I couldn't pull the trigger on it. Link for anyone in the area. http://archabraham.com/Preowned-Inventory.aspx

Well - my wife's 04 X5 has been in the shop since Tuesday because the steering wheel simply locked. That's right. The car runs fine. But when she went to back out of the garage Tuesday morning, the car simply would not turn. Thank god it's a lease and I don't have to pay anythine out of pocket. But my point is ALL car companies have issues. BMWs are no different.

Up hear in Montreal our brutal winters bring out the worst in cars....BMW....according to the CAA (Canadian AAA) the BMW is the car that breaks down the most and is towed the most here! I rest my case. All car companies have issues however some have significantly more than others! Nice ride though and I have to agree...try a 07 335i coupe or the 328i and you won't believe it! In a recent shoot out in Europe between the new 350 BHP Audi S5 coupe and the 300HP BMW 335i the bimmer beat the Audi 4 wheel drive and DSG and all ....around a closed track and is priced significantly less than the Audi. The handling is amazing!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the max and e46 are about equally mod friendly. Besides the outrageous amounts of money for bolt-ons, there isn't a whole lot to do besides FI. Check out www.bimmerforums.com for all of your info. I did LOTS of research before I test drove and that place is an excellent BMW community. Good luck!

Nice looking ride you've got there my friend.
I've got my Max up for sale as well. It is sort of strange how you get attached to the car. But I'm wanting to get into something smaller.
