Good idea!, . I'll weigh Js bumpers when I get them, and I'll see if can get the guys at ED weigh the hood for me on monday.

J once again thanks a lot man, I'll prolly be getting the car back next friday or early next week, I've decided to buy a steel hood from egay for now, (they are like 130, not bad), I'll get a hold of you when ever the car is ready so I can go pick them up,
Thanks.

Thanks Bro! The weight is gonna be the determining factor for me if I'm gonna buy or not. I have no problem with the looks plus it will the newest body kit out there. I hope everything goes well for you!

Kevin weight savings on the bumper is going to average 35%, on the front bumper I expect to see somewhere around 50% due to the openings, bumpers usually weigh in at around 20lbs, so put it all together and we have a possible weight savings of 15 to 20lbs, dont quote me on this numbers, I expect to see more savings when I actually weigh the bumpers.

Also Carbon fiber hood is ready to pre order, but since im still not a vendor here, I cant actually post a thread about it, most of you know where to find me though, if not just pm me.

That is looking very nice! However, the bumper does look a bit low to the ground in these pics, and I remember you said you weren't lowered. On average springs lower the car's front 1.8 to 2".

ok guys, I did my math and this is what i came out with,
I was told the front bumper was sitting at ~5 1/8 the way it is right now, so when lowered it'll be at stupid 3 1/8" low, now remember im sitting on 19s, with 40 series, (I think), so with 20s it will go up .5" to 3.7" off the ground still really low, so I told them to bring the front up 1.25" from where its sitting right now, that will put us at around 5" with 20s and 4.75 with 19s, I think that would work out pretty good,
Jsmith's car is sitting at around 4.25 right now so we should be around .5" higher

I understand your quote, I had a RLM bumper with a 2" Eibach drop thus had 4" of clearance up front, I've since have the bumper shave 1" and raised my D2 coilovers .5" over my Eibachs. Once complete my new front ride hieght is now 5-1/2". Street driving with 4" up front was a BIATCH!!!

Then...

Now shaved...

Looking good so far... Do you have any new updates/pics? When do you think the whole thing will be completed? Are you keeping the color the same as original?

there will be special pricing for people on the list, specially the first 5 I will be asking for deposits though, stay tuned.

I still dont have any more pics, but Extreme Dimensions promised the finished prototype by this friday, we will see if the can do it, after that is done there is still a wait of 2.5 months.

I have to admit that I haven't read every post in this thread, but have you addressed the concern of water collecting in the hood depressions. Maybe black mesh where the rear facing fins are... or drill a series of Swiss Cheese holes? Just my 2 cents.

It looks great by the way. I am very jealous.

Alright now,

Lets get back to work on this front bumper, now that everyone has seen the new 2009 maxima.

I personally don't like it, I thought it was ugly.

The back looks like an Altima, the front- nothing to get excited about,- and what's up with the center console? Very ugly!!!

So to get over my sadness, I'm looking forward to this new bumper, lets make it hot.

Like what I see so far, remember to cut 2" off the bottom for us in NY.

I agree with scrui. Is it possible to shrink the bumper across the board by about 2 inches? Before I go ahead with that suggestion, what foglights would fit in the openings. I'm guessing you're going for side openings large enough to fit the fogs?

Well I was planing on a specific fog light for the car, but since people have different opinions I decided to make that decision up to the owner, the way the holes are I'm sure they fit a wide variety of designs,
Also the bumper will be a little less wide and low than whats shown above
