Hello....I am sure this has been posted somewhere but I am looking to see if it is possible to drop down the factory screen and put the avic-d3 in that spot? In addition if I currently have factory Sirius what can be done about this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Nope it's not deep enough behind there. As for the Sirius, I don't believe you will be able to keep it as the stock HU has to come out for the install. Looks like it's onto XM for you with the D3 (unless the "merger" ever actually happens)

I am looking to install an Avic D3 but I am concerned that the position of the unit is not great and will not be user friendly down low like that. Can anyone shed some light on if the unit is too low when driving or is the height OK.

Thanks

Can you hook an aftermarket screen up to do what the stock screens do? Or does it have to be completely separate

Old mod from a member that has since gone MIA...very entailed replacement of hundreds of tiny LED's...
Look around in some older threads there is a member who might be doing this again though.

Yes, when you remove the NAVI disc it goes into a limited mode. Only a certain amount of coverage area and limited functionality. I honestly don't recall the last time i took out the NAVI disc with all my movies/music on my IPOD, there's no need to...

I have the pioneer 12 disc CD changer on mine. It works great and I have never removed my navigation disc. I also use the bluetooth and ipod controls without issue. Now if I could stumble upon a cheap DVD changer I could string on

i'm going to get the d3 this weekend used from the classifieds.
what are the necessary things that i should make sure are included in the sales (in terms of wiring). i'm thinking the rca harness, power harness, gps antenna and what else...?

In addition, i've browsing to see what exactly i need to install on my 2004 nissan maxima se with Bose system. i'm a complete noob at this so any assistance will be appreciated. here is a kit that i saw...does that have everything i need to get going?...oh and is the wiring harness included in this kit the same as an amp intergration harness? I'm concerned how the bose amp plays a part in this install.

Just received the AVIC-D3 as a gift. Hope to install in my 2005 Maxima. Any information on what I'll need, i.e., double-din kit, wiring harness, etc. will be greatly appreciated. By the way, where exactly is the VSS wire located?

Metra Double-Din Kit (Bezel) 99-7404

I hope this helps. For 04-06 Maximas use the Metra 99-7404 Double-Din Kit. Try Amazon.com or ebay. I got mine for $19 bucks. Good luck.
