cattman y-pipe and mag mufflers installed

Just wanted to let people know that I installed the y-pipe and magnaflow 14816 today. Both needed special cutting/welding (cost me $75 ). The only bad thing is that I had already had the resonator cut off and the drone inside is realllly obnoxious. I will be putting in a resonator of some sort (anyone have any advise?). I like the deep sound outside but inside the car is just too much. I feel like it is more responsive and will be getting a dyno done before the spacers and udp go on so I will be able to post the before and after with those mods. So if anyone has some advise on a resonator that will keep the deep tone I would appreciate it. Thanks FYI: it is -10 here right now..

I got a Magnaflow resonator installed. Get the big one (22 inch). It'll get rid of most of the drone. I also put some sound dampening in the trunk. I have been debating getting some Edelbrock SDT stainless mufflers to replace my Magnaflows...

Takes out a lot of the drone. I got mine on eBay...I like the "Make Best Offer" ones...always seem to get a good price.

I just bought the magnaflow 14807's and I'm keeping the stock resonator but having my exhaust guy cut out the crip for better flow.

Hilbe, I have the 22' 10436 (22" long 4" body & 2.5 ends) res and the 14862 muffler and the sound is still way to loud in the cabin almost overbearing at times (50-70mph).... I think i'm going to have the factory res back on.

This is essentially what I have. I also have the Vibrant Ultra Quiet 14 Inch Resonator on there as well. I put some sound deading in the trunk/back seat. Seemed to help a bunch. My exhaust guys said its most likely the mufflers that are doing it. Thats why I've been researching mufflers lately. I really like the look and technology of the Edelbrock SDT Stainless Mufflers...

With the Ultra quiet res and the sound deading, is it any where near desireable in the cabin??? Have you heard the Edelbrock SDT mufflers?

Closer to desirable, but not quite there yet. I can tolerate it at least. The Edelbrock is supposed to be quiet, but I have not heard them on a Maxima.

Right now I'm researching my options...

Was wondering... did you notice the difference in HP/TQ? Some homies said they didnt notice anything but some also did...

if you did notice a difference... what other mods do you have?

Also... how is MPG city wise? Any difference at all?

I just had my magnaflow 14807'S installed today and left the stock resonator on with no drone inside the car . The notes sound kick a$$ . It sounds great at idle ,crusing speeds 60 mph and getting down on it not that loud just sweet deep tone . I even kept my stock mufflers in case they were to loud but they're not.
