so i just clicked over 80.000 kms on my 04 max and im doing a transmission fluid change and filter change tomorrow night after hours at the shop i work at. now we usually work on econo boxes and trucks so im not really sure if there is anything special i need to know about doing the service on my 4 speed. by the way the search function wont work for me so no flaming.

 

And I was so ready to use the seach word. oh well. Ive read alot were doing drain and refill. Only recently some were actually doing the flush.

 

i have the right right fluids (Dexron/Mercon III) and all that at work and i got he filter/gasket kit, i just dont want to get an air lock and have it jump into limp mode like some of the newer caravans do

not sure if the 4spd are the same as the 5AT but you must use the K matic Nissan fluid.

 

ya i checked into that its only the 5 speed that uses the Kmatic fluid. 4 speed is dexron/mercon III or the fancy nissan stuff that just has a different sticker on the bottle

 

i did a drain and fill with the stuff from the stealership just to be safe but no probs yet 6k later.
