OEM windshield replacement...

Wel I got a windshield chip this morning on my '04 and it has already turned into and 8" crack, so I'm probably looking at replacement. I have already heard about and had my own disappointment with the work of places like safelite on previous cars. Anyone know where I can get an OEM windshield replacement in NY? I have a feeling if I bring it to the dealer they would just sent it out to a place anyway..anyone?

i was able to get nissan to replace mine for free. If it's a very small chip or crack setup an appointment at nissan, get your car back and clam it's a stress crack done by them when they opened your door while the car was on the lift. They didn't believe me until i acted like i knew wtf i was talking about. I said the cars a unibody and once the doors opened on the lift the car bent ever so slighty and caused the stress crack...worth a try.

P.S. they get subs to do the work but it was done directly in the nissan shop, and i noticed the price was around 200 bucks (i paid nothing w00t)

I doubt if it is OEM, but I seriously doubt you will find one that is, but I have used Glass Doctor (httP://www.glassdoctor.com) a number of times with work vehicles and have an appointment tomorrow to have the glass on my Maxima replaced. They don't do deductible reimbursement, but no decent business will. I trust them.

I had my windshield replaced and specifically asked for the Nissan glass. The work was performed by Settles glass, not a dealer. Can't tell the difference that it was ever replaced.
