Depends if they hear the "cranking" noise or if they press the brake pedal. That will take you down. Try kbb.com by the way.

Hey man, You might get 14.5k thats it if your lucky. The gas crunch has hurt our resale value. I was shopping for 6 months and got anywere between 11k 14.5k, 14.5k which I got from a friend at Lexus when we got my wife's IS. But we wound up keeping the Maxima. 18MPG's is not that bad for city driving. Yes she still got the IS.. LOL

You seem more like your scared of the price of gas then actually rationalizing your finances

You dropped 21.5 in cash, drove for 2 years minus 6 months, now your gonna take another hit and buy a corolla for higher gas mileage, you own the Maxima so no car payment, ease up on the gas pedal and just enjoy only having to pay for a fill up, unless you have an extremely long commute you may need to rethink trading your car

i just feel as if i will be having problems with the maxima in the future. i already have a bad motor mount that i know will cost me no less than 500 dollars, then i know i need to do trans fluid, brake flush and a few other things. i will also be going to school in sept which is about 20 min ride from home so that is another reason why id like to have a car that gets better gas mileage. im stuck btw a rock and a hard place right now !!

Did you try selling your Max to a private party? You might get better price there.

i sold my previous car to a private owner. to be honest i dont feel like going through selling the car to someone. i have the motor mount problem, the cranking noise problem, the new sound problem i have been experiencing and i wouldnt want that person i sold the car to, to bother me about it ya know ? so i figure let the dealer deal with it...i LOVE my maxima im just afraid im gonna run into trouble with it. personally id rather start with a brand new car and keep up with it. i bought my max with 27k miles on it and the lady that had it before me treated it like a complete moron. but i havent decided yet i havent been to a dealer to see what they will try and give me but i will keep you guys updated !!

I've looked through the classifieds and even some dealer websites used car inventories, and 04-06 6th Gens range from 16-17k to 20k depending on year and mileage but mostly all well equipped with leather etc..

Trading your car into a dealer is a bad idea. They will low ball you and ask for way less than even wholesale price. Let's say you are able to squeeze a wholesale price out of them. They will make it up in some other way. Dealer fee, or suddenly your credit rating is worse than you thought it is and your interest rate is 12%. If they don't make money on the front end, they'll make it on the back end.
Do youself a favor and put it in a 5 day ebay auction with about 30 pics of the car from every angle. You'll get at least wholesale there, and the dealer won't back end you.
