Anyway it cost like $500 for the whole thing or like $260 for the element only. Maybe some one can chime in on if I need the whole peice of plastic or just the element only..
you should have oil on your filter because it passes thru your MAF.
I mean if you clean your filter and spray the oil on it you have to let it fully dry before you reinstall it.

Also who buys a stock maxima airbox?

It dryed for 12 hours in my house before it was installed, This is not the first intake I have had and know the oil can damage the MAF. Also a guy who bought a car with a intake on it and did not want it( Customer at my old job) Hey man if you want it and I have it take it..

well the G35 is defintely a step up, I love those cars, but I would look into a 2009 Maxima as well.

and if you end up deciding to pick up a new car and want to trade that nismo for a factory exhaust, let me know

Trade maybe with some cash.( I was the first but it still was not free, LOL) But will keep it in mind. I called around for the 09 Max seen it and love it but $730 a month with $2500 OFP,, what are they nuts! Only giving me 12k for my car.. No thanx. Heck I would have traded it in for the wifes Lexus for $535 a month with 2500 $OFP..

I was doing a lease trade in and they would have given me an 09 max for $497 mth with no money down for 39 month lease. Know a lease is different but wow what a price difference.

Nope!! Not sure yet car is eitehr going to be traded or a may send the 100$$ to have the Diaq doena at another dealer. Went G35( Sport no NAV Ivery pearl with dove leather) shopping on Saturday and got $2500 39 months and $570 with the Maxima traded. That dosent look to bad to be depending onm whats wrong with the my Max. But we will see. I probally will take of Friday form work and try to do it all in one day. If the Max is too exspensive to fix( She has 51k on her) then I will take the money over to Infinity and trade her. I really love tne Max but do not want to spend crazy money on fixing her

Do you mind

What year is your Max, and do you know how much it's worth? Kelly BB or NADA?
If it's a money thing, $570 a month AFTER you drop $2500 seems to be a lot. Do you still have a long time to pay on the Maxima?

That would be a little too extreme. Why dont you hook up with a fellow orger near you and try putting back stock parts to see if it makes it any better. There is a chance that one of the Nismo products is bad. I would start there and if the problems continue even after the swap and the second dealer evaluation, then think of a trade. Are the payments that you have mentioned for a lease or a 3 year loan payoff?

Kbb on the car is a horriable 14k and I owe 19,800 just bought last Nov
when the KBB was 18k thats accually what I paids but traded two cars and rolled $3500. I pay $430 a month now for the next 38 months. So for them to take my car and $2500 and give me a payment of $570 on a 39 month lease for a 44k G35X ( Sport package) I think thats pretty good, and no worries about anything for the next 3 years peice of mind is a good thing. If I drive the Max and it cracks a piston or something eles goes wrong I the car would be usless in trade and I have no choise to pay what ever it is to fix it. I'm tying to think down the road here. The total on the lease is more than what I would be paying in the Max for the next three years but thats if nothing eles happens tranny or engine wise..

Yea man I really do not want to give up the Max but if it makes sense then it makes sense. We will see on Thursday, thats when I'm going to another dealer to see if they can solve the issue. But yea the numbers are
good and the car is great. Still have not driven it yet I want to wait to see if I'm getting it or not.. Do not want to get excited..

OK Update dealer yesterday found the issue. Both rear O2 sensors are stuck
on .03 volts, they are not moving at all. So the tech said either both need
o be replaced or I need a ECU.you should have seen his face and the service
managers face when I made the car ping in ( Brake stnding the car). He also
coulnd not beleive the dealer told my to " Just drive it" He said so they will
put a motor in your car aftere you crack a piston.. LOL. Any way I have to bring it
back on next Friday( Only day I can unless Nissan gives me a rental for monday) they
are going to zero out the O2 sensors and see if that works if not a need the ECU.
I will be calling Nissan this morning to see if they will cover these repairs and give
me a rental considering When I complained of this I was still in warrenty( I'm out be
time 8 days now) so we will see how Nissan is???

Hey Anm6, what dealer found the issue? Im around the Boston area and am about to pick up an 07. I want to know what dealer to trust for work? Clearly you had some issues with Clay in Norwood.

Thanks

The dealer is Colonial Nissan in Medford. Ben and Rich( Service manager) are good. I usually go there. They did a engine of my 04 350Z( oil consumption). Clay was the one Nissan was there dealership in Newton. I only went there cause I live in Brighton and its a 5 min drive. I'm still kicking myself for not going to Colonial( 30 min drive) in the first place. I would trust them.

Why don't you just buy a Mercedes C300 Sport?? You can get it in a MT and choose AWD/RWD. You'll love it. And their service is impeccable. They won't give you the bullsh*t our (or most of our) dealerships do. It's an excellent car. We have the luxury, but I'm sure you'd prefer the sport. (heres some picks..not trying to thread-jack, just helping out)

Its not the price, Hell I had a G35X-s on the table this weekend and walked away. $2500 down my car and $545 a month 3 year lease. I just did not want to put out the cash.. The lease is more than my monthly on the Max now but I did not want to spend the $2500 especially since they found the issue with my car. The only way I was going to trade her was if the dealer did not find the problem or it was going to cost me more than 1k. What ever the car needs is still under warrenty, at least better be..!!

It is but I have a 04 with 52k miles. Sorry if I confused you. I thought
they were covered under 8-80k but that only if you have Cali emissions
and I don't of course. LOL But the good things is the ECU is covered till
80k if I need that. I just hope there isnt anything eles wrong with car. Now
it's tripping after it shifts in to third. IE: feels like a clutch that slips.

NO, I'm out by 22 days. The tranny just started slipping a few days ago. When I mentioned
it to my wife she said " Yea it been doing that for like 3months" UM WTF do you think you
should have mentioned it to me?? She was the one driving the car 95% of the time till
she got the Lexus. And I only drive it like 4 miles a day. So it did not do it to me till Monday
night.
