Hey curious question about the backseats of the maxima...

Hey guys,
I just had a question about the backseats of the 04-08 nissan altima.

Ive noticed some people have a center console in the back (connecting with the front)

Is this a factory option,
can I do it myself too?
and do all maxima's from 04-08 have the option to get this package?

thanks for the help,
-[r]

you can do it but its alot of money to convert it that way.
I have this on my maxima from the factory, it was a $3500 option (Elite package) only offered in 2004 maximas.
here is a pic of it

Yes and no. It is a factory option, but it was also available to me when I bought my 2005. I gotta have room for the kids so I went with the regular bench. I can't speak for the 2006s though.

Oh yeah, nicely done interior.

your going have to find a Elite Package maxima thats been in a accident.

Need the seats center consule,
There are air vents that run to that as well , I havent totally pulled mines off so i have no idea whats under there, the cup holders.

The seats DO not fold down tho , the only down side but the bottom seats are easy to take off , theres handle that you pull and they completely come off.

same here , Ive lost 3rd in my 5AT , Already have a few 6spd parts to convert but re-planning my step, May just go with a fully built 5AT instead of the 6spd.

haha ok,
does anyone know what we're lookin at in pricing?
more than it costs to get the elite package itself? or what

How often are elite packages seen.
Because thats what I would really like to get now.
I was hopefully getting mine tomorrow but I dont know anymore that elite package is just murdering me.

Doing the elite conversion is not worth it..So many things to do...But as to how often they are seen..Very rare, on this board we might have 10 if that..Its a pretty expensive option, and most of us need 3 seats available in the back

From what I have heard, it was called "Journey" package on SE's and "Elite" package on SL's. It consisted of heated dual rear buckets, power rear sunshade, delete rear seat 60/40 fold down and replace with lockable pass-thru, center console with storage box, 2 cupholders, power point, console box light, and also don't forget, this package makes all 4 windows "Auto". This package required leather and moon roof (driver preferred?), from what i understand it did not require navigation but most of them did have nav.. Burnt Orange leather required this 4 place seating option and came on black, orange, or smoke exterior only. Correct me if I'm wrong,

I work at a Nissan dealership and my research has led me to believe I own a rare model, Black onxy / Burnt orange 2004 6 speed manual, elite package, navigation, etc.

You have one up on me which is the 6spd , I have yet to decide which to swap in right now , the 6spd or a fully built 5AT

I suppose each has its advantages. Obv the 5 speed auto is more convenient, better for boost (if you end up going turbo) the six speed is pretty smooth, better for N/A and easy to shift but the shift throws are long and I'm not aware of a short shifter available.

Wow these are some awsome interiors.
I am so amped I really want to get one with elite package, or so be it, "Journey" package.

We checked out a few auctions for em but no luck. We'll see what happens in the short future.

I wonder what Nissan would say if I called and asked them if I was even aloud to put it in after it was already made... ?

Hey all, I'm about to purchase a 04 Maxima SE.
The owner has told me the car is fully loaded minus Navi.
It even has the Elite package.

I'm wondering if its worth paying the extra $ for one with the Elite package?
Will this slow the car down (in terms of extra weight)?

Thanks

it seems to me that you would also have to replace the front center console. When I disassembled the whole rear of my car to do dynamat extreme, the rear section of the center console hooks into the front section. I also see alot of work in finding the "firewall" that is behind the rear seats and trying to install the rear window shade. I agree that the only option is pulling this off a totaled elite and have way to much time on you hands. I have to say a black max with peanut butter leather and buckets does make me feel good. It could be worth it in the end.

I've been shopping around Houston for a 6th gen Maxima, and got a call from Tom Peacock Nissan today. They just got in a 2006 Maxima Elite with everything including leather and navigation, about 35k miles, price right around $18,000. Not sure on the color.

Anyone interested can PM me and I'll give you the contact info for the guy at the dealership I've been talking to.

i was going to get it but it uses up one seat so instead of having 5 you get 4 but both the front and the back passengers enjoy the trip ive been on my friends max and he has the elite package and it feels great back there wouldnt mind not riding shotgun if any car had this feature but it looks nice and i believe its only a factory thing so go to the stealership and ask
