07 Trip\Info button when hidden for Aftermaket deck

Hey everyone, im looking to pick up an 07 in the next week or so. I was looking for one with NAV but they seem to be pretty hard to find around my area. I may just have to throw an aftermarket screen in w/ NAV

Anyway, I like how a few people have hid the stock HU in the dash to keep the info center working when they installed the aftermarket screen. Has anyone figured out a way to not loose the functionality of the Trip\info button. I would really like to keep that feature.

I've searched for a while and cant seem to find anything in the Audio and 6th Gen forums.

Thanks for the help guys

Sorry I dont mean to hijack your thread but since it was brought up I have a question about doing this as well.

I want to add a aftermarket deck too while leaving the stock behind the dash. How do you wire both units? Can I still use the blue tooth? Is there a thread on this already. I searched but couldnt find one.

I found a tread on this in the audio section i think. I'll look around and post it if i find it. Not sure about the blue tooth, thats something i would like to know though. Might have to use BT from the aftermarket deck

yep that was me... and a quick fix if you hide the stock radio and the time up on the info screen gets out of sync... sneak out to your car at 11:59pm... open the hood and disconnect neg term of the battery... at the stroke of midnite.. put it back on.. ya its 12:00 o clock again. Saves you from opening up the dash again.
/ I guess you can do it at noon too.
