Emission testing with a CAI

So anyone get their car state inspected with a CAI, I'm wondering what the outcome will be with the intake, they check tailpipe emissions at different speeds

Depending where you are is different. In California, if you do not have the approved paper work for the mod you will have to search for the right place to get your emissions tested (one that is willing to overlook that fact). It is a pain in the derrier. Overall many of these mods do not affect the actual numbers unless you remove an emission component all together.

Assuming you live in NY (per your profile), you will not have and issue whatsoever. You have not removed any emissions part, and they don't even need to open your hood to do NYS inspection. They will test all your lights, horn, for engine codes and send you on your way... if they really want to do things by the book they will lift your car and check brakes and for any missing emission components, but most are too lazy. BTW if your intake has a CARB sticker/number its legal for use in all 50 states.
