Magnaflow 14805 installed

Sup fellas, i just wanted to post some pics of the new Magnaflow 14805 mufflers i had installed last week. I finally got around to taking a few pics. Let me know what you guys think.

They have a nice little growl to them but they're not as loud as i expected. That huge stock resonator box is still on there so it's stealing some of my glory howl for now... LoL. I'm planning on getting the Cattman b-pipe which has a smaller resonator. And after talking with Brian from Cattman and a few other Org members it seems like the b-pipe would be the way to go to get that deeper growl i'm looking for. Sorry no audio clips, when i install the b-pipe i'll be posting a clip. Here are a few pics:

Damn that looks very familiar Very little difference if any to my 14816. Looks really good. Welcome to the fam!! I know how you feel about the resonator. I took mine off and ended up putting it back on (for now.) That thing is a beast. I'm working on getting the b-pipe too.

Fast, you got a audio clip of how your setup sounds with the b-pipe? I'm not looking from a loud obnoxious (ricey) sound. Something close to the FX35/G35 would be nice.

Sweet! But those tips looks kinda long. But i guess you can cut the part where they're going to be joined a little more in so they don't project too far out.

I think they will fit but eyeball them first before you get them actually welded on. I think they will be too long. Not as far as function goes but just for looks. They are 3in longer than the ones ILL-Maxima put on. You can get an idea how much further they will stick out.

Here is a set on a BMW, too bad there wasn't any sound.

Veniality,

Don't let these guys sweat you on the 14816's I have em' on my Max and they fit perfectly. I think they're jealous because they are lacking the length

And while you are on a roll, why don't you replace your resonator with another Magnaflow like I did. #10436

As some of you guys may know, I have been toiling with my exhaust system for about a month now. The journey started with the Fujita intake. Pretty much painless there. Got the dragons growl but I wanted more. Magnaflows came next, the sound improved but it could have been better. Then the genius in me decided to totally remove my resonator. I achieved the sound that I was looking for but the interior noise was killing me. Hence the resonator was tacked back on and did a little bit more research. I know Cattman sells a resonator for <$100. I was about to buy it to replace my resonator but I checked Magnaflow's web site last time and I ran into the round universal mufflers that they offer. Sizes differ but I decided that the #10436 would be the right choice. It's pretty close to size as the Cattman's. I had to compromise between the nice deep tone and the interior noise but I think I finally achieve what I was looking for. $70 at Amazon will get you the #10436
Basically I could have spend $400 on the b-pipe but why? The only main difference is that resonator. I'm slowly working from rear to front, y-pipe and headers are next.

Oh no, not trying to sweat my man. I was just checking out how the 14805s fit on ILLs car and was thinking three more inches is going to stick out pretty far. But I look at the pics for each set up and they look exactly the same.

I didn't realize different Magnaflow mufflers would or could be made to fit the same. It's all good. I hope it works out and post some pics when you are done.

Gollum, you have a audio/video clip of how it sounds now that you installed the magnaflow resonator? I was thinking about going the b-pipe route also, but definitely don't have the $400+shipping it's gonna cost. If i can achieve the same thing for $70 then that would be awesome... But first i want to have an idea of how it sounds. I know video/audio don't really do the sound much justice as in person, but at least i would know what to expect. thanks man.

Yea dude, def post some pics and a audio/video clip. Are you just doing the mufflers or the whole cattback?

Good luck. Shouldn't cost more than $110 to install both.

I prefer the 14807s to 14616s because of shorter tips. I didn't want mine to stick out so much plus you get beefier tips. Here are some vids/sound clips for those who are getting late to the party. If you don't have a subwoofer you will not hear the sound properly.

So all you did was the mufflers, right? Did you install the cattman b-pipe?
