Hey folks, just wondering if any of you who have the ipod gateway for our cars have tried it with an Iphone 3g?

Does it work properly?

We are all too poor to have iphone and gateway. Does the iphone have the same port on the bottom like the pod?

 

It does and so does the iTouch. It should work since the port is the same.

 

I dont have the ipod gateway. I have a ipod adapter for my head unit. I connect my iphone or my ipod with no issues....

But this is slightly different than what you are referring to I believe.

 

The issues is...... some devices when connected to the iphone say: "This device was not intended to be used with the Iphone, would you like to disable the wireless features now?", "Charging disabled through this device"

Which is an EPIC FAIL on APPLES part. Like if you bought an AUDI or an Austin MINI you cant use your IPHONE in the car unless you buy some weird after market thingamabob.

Anywhoo, im about 5 minutes from buying the IPOD gateway but i want it to work with my iphone 3g.

yes if you put your iphone on airplane mode, it should would, with my old car i had i had an ipod gateway connect thing, and it worked fine, when i hooked it to the car, that notice would come on, and ask if i wanted it in airplane mode, just hit yes, and it should work fine

 

Have anyone tried to use a iphone 3g with the ipod gateaway????
Any comment will be apreciate it, I want to be sure before spending money buying the gateaway and find out it's not comparable.

iphone 3g probably will not work. I have the same issues with aftermaket headunits....
apple changed the iphone 3g...i know the iphone first gen worked...
im certain the itouch 2nd gen is the same.
