i have a sp2 cattback on it now , i have a cai and spacers laying in the closet , waiting for my racingline y pipe to come and just ordered a nwp bockoff plate , what should be my next performance mod ? i'm not going to do headers , or a tune , or a flywheel , just looking for something cheap with less HP unf. lol

so should it be time advance 2 degrees or a cosmo pulley and where can i get a cosmo pulley please let me know also , thanks

Do them both. Timing advance can be done when you get all that installed. I think Prjctmax may have a cosmo still for sale. Check with him or the classified section

Thats for the crank pulley as I didnt see one in dans thread.

Do the 2 degress as it should be cheap depending on your dealer. If you dont use good octane gas its a must afterward.

Thought I read that you would still gain even without the limiter. If your doing your spacers and have the intake off its a no brainer. The ecu can be done later.

well i do use 93 , i mean will it give me any diff at all ? and if yes where am i going to feel the gain , and also the performance shop in my area told me they can do it for $50

I felt a low end difference... but high end and i mean high high high end was better

But Im sticking w/ my VIAS plate for now w/ the Phenolic Spacer Kit

your honestly about out of cheap na mods if you never want to tune or add headers go fi or add some Nawzz that is...and why is that i understand not wanting to dump money but whats holding you back?

also both the 2 degrees and cosmo pully will be 'unfeelable' when you put them on fwiw. i know people claim to feel a difference with the 2 degreee bump in timing but i sure didn't. same with the pulley. both together will 'add' less then 5whp. which is unfeelable.

if i were you i'd do all the mods at once but thats me. A smart way to do them would be one at a time a week or more separating them if you really want to 'feel' the gains/changes of each mod...

Not trying to start a fight, but just because you dont "feel" a difference doesnt mean its not there...

I have done both pullley and 2' advance and for the money you cant complain... gaining HP is gaining HP no?

If you can find someone to install the pulley for 50 bucks or less i would say its worth the 110 total for the install/part ... I would pay 110$ for 3-5 Hp Any day... but that's just me..

Anywho, just my .02

But +1 on headers REAAAAAAAAAAALy making a difference you will feel

but Y pipe gets the most HP out of headers no ? cattman claims 14 whp out of y pipe and 25 out of full header set

no pulley will EVER give you 5 hp on a 3.5 i said with both combined 'maybe' will you net 5hp SOMEWHERE along the power band. it's not the whole thing it'll probably be just for a blip. again it's a BIG maybe you'll net 5hp. 180 bucks for 5hp isn't that great and there are significant disadvantages of have an UD pulley as well, like if you have a stereo system worth anything in your car an UD pulley will HURT it. keep it stock and go for 'real' HP mods.



edit: the only people who advocate for UD pulleys are the people who have bought them and don't want to hear they could have spent their money elsewhere. 3rd 4th 5th 6th it's the same story. please correct me if i'm wrong but the fastest NA maximas of any gen use factory pulleys not UD ones right?

dont know where u got the 180... i paid 50 for install and 60 for the pulley from a member..

Again its up to the person if they feel 5hp +/- is worth it to them... added power at any power band is added power... for me 110 installed is worth it.... to you torgus its not... doesnt mean you are right or i am wrong.. or vise versa ...

timing advance was done for free so i dont mind WHAT type of power/hp gains it gives me... it was freee

as for the comment about fastest N/a maximas not having UDP , i think that those people wouldnt have a system in their cars if they are trying to be all for go and no show ...

Its 60 dollar mod plus a lil for install its not like hes wasting money ... its a mod... is it a HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGE hp mod no, does it give power gains at all RPM's and band? no but it does give some and thats what counts for me...

LOL if i said the sky was blue u would say its a mild blue w/ a hint of white and sometimes red/orange LOL
