Corrosion/paint warranty?

I just purchased a 2004 Maxima. It has 75K miles, and is in excellent shape, with the exception of one spot on the roof. The paint is bubbling up, in a quarter-size area, next to the moon roof. There is no damage or chip that would lead me to believe that this was caused by water getting into a chip/scratch, and rusting out. But, there's something going on for sure.

What kind of coverage does Nissan offer on the body against corrosion? Isn't it 10 years/100K miles?

Thanks,

Travis

Check your Owner's Manual. It should state in there what the warranty parameters are for your car.

There is a catch here - the paint surface must be 'perforated' (i.e. rusted right through) to qualify for the rust warrenty that came with the car. In other words, there is no rust warrenty because this car isnt going to rust right through in the timeframe they cover.

The roof shouldn't cost more than $300 at a decent shop. Maaco should cost about $69 lol
