Any differences between the '07 & '08

Probably too late to ask since I already bought an '07 SE. But..., when I was in the market I did not see any difference and wondering if anyone knows of differences between these 2 years?

If you're asking about mechanical differences, then no, there's very little significant changes between the 07 and 08. I did some research on it before I bought my 07 SE.

According to one Nissan tech I spoke to. The '08 is "set up" very differently than the '07. I assume he is referring to computer software, sensors, revisions etc.

For one thing, the '08 Max is not listed on the technical bulletin for the timing chain tensioner issue. For that reason alone, I would avoid an '07.

Are the cam tensioner problems hit or miss? Harley had the same issue when they went to the Twin Cam engine 9 years ago. Some have had problems but the majority did not. For me, this issue would not keep me away from an 07.

I appreciate the heads-up though and will be changing my oil soon (switch to Mobil 1) and send a sample to Blackstone as a preventative measure.

As for software revisions they can be updated fairly easily.

Someone else mentioned different leather and lights in another thread, was that a joke too?

Anything else?

FAIL

The 08 is soo new that it probably doesnt have the timing chain issues yet. Nor does the 07. This problem is consistent with 04-06 models.

It is not a cam tensioner problem if im not mistaken. It it the timing chain tensioner that wears out and the chain rubs a metal piece on the actual tensioner guide.
Not so much that the leather is different, but the 07 may be able to get the Elite package option and the 08 cannot. Elite package consists of a full rear center console with heated rear bucket seats, back window shade, 12v aux in the rear console.

..
Thanks for the correction. I assume Nissan uses ceramic on the tensioner arms and that wears out. If I have a problem, it will show up in the lab report.
Any differences in the suspension? I test drove an '08 and found that the '07 drove much more solid and had much better road to driver feedback (whatever they call that). That was one of the reasons I went with the '07.

I believe the same features appear on the 07 under a different name (Drivers package, or something of that sort). I did my research on an 07 and by the time I was ready to buy, they had some good deals on the 08's, so I went with that. As far as I knew, there wasn't much difference between the two.
