ok, this morning I went out to duluth and went to hop back in the car and when I turn the key all I hear is click, click, click... so I had my car towed to qwinnett place nissan and now I wait.. its probably the starter.. its getting harder to luv the max with all da issues. only good thing is my warranty should cover it... stayed tuned as I sit here bored...

 

dead battery. don't let them charge you for **** until you check that first!

battery for sure. the clicking you are hearing is the starter drive jumping in and out from not having enough juice to crank it over.

we sell Interstate batteries at the shop i work at and have never had one fail yet. under $140 installed and taxes included

 

Ive heard many good things about interstate.

 

According to Consumer Reports for folks living in the north Interstate is Number 1 for the money and believe it or not the MAXX (North) battery at Walmart is Number 2.

I picked up a MAXX for the wifes Odyssey for $73. 3 year free replacement and the 6 year prorated. Hard to beat that.

I agree thaat Interstate is probably the best, but it's hard to beat the price of the MAXX and Walmarts are everywhere.

I think the DieHard Gold (which I also have in my Max) was rated in the top 5.

And I also agree that everyone (including women) should have at least a semester of auto class at school just to learn the simple stuff. How to change a tire. Jumper cables. Check fluids. And most important, when not to open a radiator cap!!!

but it's not guys on this Forum I'm worried about. They either understand cars or are trying to.

It's the millions of others that only know to put gas in and go. And in NJ you don't even do that since we don't have self serve.

I have 30 people (mostly graduate engineers) that work for me that are great book smart , but have no common sense. They have to come to the old guy (me) whenever they have the simplest questions about their cars.

Lots of young kids these days can't even put a chain back on their bike. If they get a flat tire they want their parents to buy them a new bike. But I will say that they can kick my a** on any video game.

ya the battery in my ford focus was better than the one my max came with...

 

Well u guys are right it was the battery. The weird part was i thought it was the battery, but the lights, radio, etc all was working fine.. So I had them give me the old battery cause it was still under warranty. I paid for the battery and tow and then took the receipt and battery back to the place I got it from and got a refund of the difference.
