Question about broken Tab on air filter canister

Hello,

Today while checking the air filter I tried to force the plastic tabs into the slots provided on the canister and broke one of the tabs. It's the one closest to the firewall. Anyone think this will cause much of a problem? With the metal tabs snapped on it still appears to be a pretty tight fit.

I would go to the junk yard and find a replacement for it.....not worth taking a chance in my opinion.

No worries. I broke the same one off after the second air filter check. The other two along with the two metal retainers are enough to hold the air box tight. I have 60k on my 06 and no issues.

Life is so much easier without that stupid third tab...such a poor design anyway.
