Slotted brake rotors

Does anyone have any experience with these? I will never afford a BBK but I would like to have rotors like these.

those are drilled and slotted. I put just the slotted on my wife's car and they really made a difference over the factory rotors. Under warranty, she went through 3 sets of factory rotors. These will last as long as she h as the car.

Get slotted. Drilled could crack.

Oh really? I wasn't aware of that. Why is that? And what is better, 2 piece or 1?

I have the zinc RTP Xdrilled/slotted rotors from automax95 in the group deal/sponcer forum. They are awesome and they stop so fast. If you get them I would also upgrade your pads to hawk HPS because those rotors will tear up the OEM pads.

Well, I'm ordering a pair for the rear today, if you really want to wait and see what they look like but, in all honesty they all look they same and look good on the max.

Respectfully, the only way the rotors would crack is if there were a crack in the rotor prior to heat treatment. Rotors generally have a tolerance of HRC 15-25 (Rockwell Hardness) and will not crack from general use.

Slotted rotors get rid of the brake dust from the pads making the pads have the maximum mating surface against the rotors while the holes help cool them preventing them from warping prematurely. That is the design intent.

By the way, my profession is a Quality Engineer in the automotive industry, but not Nissan at this time. However, I am familiar with a couple other Japanese automakers. My company specializes in braking components. (Hubs, Rotors, Parking Brakes, VSC, ABS, Speed Sensors, ect.)

I have a 2000 Maxima, found some great information here and decided to join. However, I know I am a noob and not a great mechanic, but I did manage to change the plugs in my car this weekend!

no, then it would be a big brake kit. These are inexpensive but well worth it. You should have enough info now to purchase and the support of a lot of people here. Buy it, install it and then post pics

I don't have a shot of the fronts, but these are slotted/drilled RP rotors. Tho I ordered slotted only (didn't wanna go through the shipping hassle)

Those look good guys, now I just have to decide whether I want rims or rotors. $300 is a good start to some nice rims. Are there any "how to install" threads about these?
