Self install 07-08 Rear Bumper

Three hours but I'm sure it can be down in less time.

If you have a new bumper you'll see on the new bumper all the holes. These will guide you to where you need to start on the bumper you are taking off. Unless your removing it for another reason.

Bumper looks great. Did you have to spray it or did you get it from the stealership already sprayed? Can i ask how much you paid?

Ok, noob questions:

Was this an straight up mod or did you replace the old bumper cuz' it was damage?

How much difference in design are the bumpers?

Any before install pics?

Looks really good!

No damage just wanted the 07-08 bumper cause it looks better. 04-06 bumper is round. Here is before.....

$499 plus shipping. Got it from ebay a place called theonlinebodyshop. They sent it painted with the color code. They have horrible customer service. Thought they were trying to run off with my money. The product is nice though.

The lines are different, the 07-08 has a more defined line across the middle section and the rear "diffuser" look. Here's a pic I took at a show last year:

The paint is a good match. The bumper looks like fresh paint but after a wash it blended even better. I think $499 plus shipping was a good deal. The company most likely won't ever sell this bumper again because I had to make them learn how to do business and they got pissed off.

$499 plus $89 shipping. Not bad. Self install is a must if you want to avoid paying for the install.

Looks really nice. I just ordered mine from Ebay... it was from salvage but is white like mine and still in mint condition with no scratches.... The only issue is the one I have has those sensor holes which I dont know what to patch them with? Ill go to the crafts store and find something to put over them. I really like the look of the 08 bumper--much more defined and structured. Looks just like it has a rear diffuser and I love the two-tone.

$500 is marvelous. Some dude with a trailer hitch backed into my car in a mall parking lot and ran. I have a nice gash in my bumper and my bodyshop wants $500 to fix just that. I wish i could find an 07-08 bumper in silver....

Started a whole thread on http://forums.maxima.org/6th-generat...hgenmaxima.org about my experience. They promised 10 business days to ship and after the tenth day I called. Got the run around always saying its going to ship today or next day. They told me that for another week and then it went into the start of the fourth week. I thought it was a scam. Good thing is Paypal gives you 45days to dispute goods for services. I put a hold on the funds twice and then they started to call me with answers and the wrong tracking number. They pleaded with me to cancel the dispute for the second time after they provided the true tracking/shipping info. It was a nightmare ! It came greyhound and I had to take it out the box and loop it through the trunk over the rear seats and out the moonroof.

I can only say that they did a great job with the paint match and product.

looks sick man awesome job

How would you rate the install on a scale of 1-10 ?

I also don't feel like paying an arm and a leg for installation (if I can do it myself)

Despite whats been said about the company, they're the only 07-08 bumper i can find and considering the way the paint looks and how it turned out, I'll wait 3 weeks, as long as they let me know it's going to take that long haha.

I have some body work that needs done over my rear tire on the fender and the body shop has to remove my old bumper anyways, so I think ill just give it to them to put the new one on. I dont think you mentioned it, but is it just a bolt on or does it require any sort of adjustments to put on an 04? just in case they ask or if i decide to do it myself.

Thanks in advance

I pulled some upper back muscles and the only thing I remember doing is the bumper install. So either I didn't know what the hell I was doing or maybe its a two man job?

Rate would be a 7, Putting the new one on was hard. Didn't want to scratch it or drop it. Had to pull and push for the hole under the tail lights to align. Got one side on while the other side hung. It makes sense for two people to do this but you can do it yourself.

Bottom portion above exhaust is unpainted and textured. Most new vehicles have this now. There is an extra line above. Less round looking. The 04-06 tail pipes under the new bumper are tucked. Maybe minor to none for some but noticable side by side.

Go for it. I wanted to say where I ordered and recommend them to all. Can't say that without caution and you have to pick up your own bumper from the station.

I have an 07 Max but mine does not have the black carbon at the bottom. Does anyone know how I could get this look w/o replacing the entire bumper?

By the way GREAT JOB!

Factory option. I think I read that the 07-08 SL has full paint or with the rear sonar. Maybe have it repainted but I think once the bottom portion is painted thats it.

I just picked up a 07-08 bumper, so you're saying it fits on the 04-06 with no issues? Do you have any pics?

Yes direct fit, it takes no where near 3 hours to put on takes like 20-30 mins

Perfect. I was a little scared that I'd have to modify or it won't fit flush because the parts place rep told me its a different shape but took the chance anyways. The 04-06 is boring, the 07-08 I can two tone it so it carries the same concept as the summer kit.
