Just installed fujita??

Just installed my fujita CAI and it kicks azz. I have a question thou, is it normal for my car to hesitate or jump rpm's when i step on it? When i step on the gas, as the car reaches 3,500rpm's, it pauses for a sec and then drops down to 3,200rpms then climbs rpms like normal. Is that normal for a new intake? Is there any break in period on a cai or should i just unplug my battery for 10 min? Any info or advice would be helpfull. thanks
I have no check engine light on. I put this on 2 days ago and driven about 60 miles since.

Nice! Fujita black wrinked looks real good man. The sound this thing makes in the high RPM is awesome! So far as to the little pause in acceleration i would say definitely try unplugging the battery wait like 20mins and see if that makes a difference. The reason is that the ECU will need to relearn the new air flow coming in. I've had my Fujita for about 9mths now and never had this prob, but then again i disconnected my battery before the install.

confirmeddddd it does do that and the guys on the nycmaximas told me 2 unplug my battery for 20minz... do it and u will fell so much betta and ur call will take offfffffffffffffffffffffffffff!!! i had the exact problem and didnt thing disconnecting th ebattery was an issue since itz not electrical.. but the ECU does discover rich in airflow and pauses til it reached its limits.. then continues....

thanks for the compliments, i do love it. Thanks for the advice and i just disconnected my battery this morning and does run a lot better. Still bogs a little at 3500rpm but hopefully it will learn to go away. thanks for all the help. Now i just gotta think whats the next mod that will give me more hp without breaking the bank.

Fujita FTW!!!

not to thread-jack...but I've done some searching (and can't post my own thread yet ) and seen that a CAI will make you lose some of your low-end power/torque. I installed a CAI...love it...sounds wicked...but did notice the drop in low-end. Will a new Y-Pipe help recover some of that lost power? If not what will?

BTW... I do like the wrinkled black texture on that.... it'd be cool if you did the engine covers in that too. I've seen that type of paint at some of the local shops...just not sure it'd work so well on plastic.

Where is the little Airbox that goes between the Fujita and the engine. I seen someone car that has a CAI installed and kept there box. My car has the factory box that came with it but in this picture it has a INjen box. here is the link to the picture. http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...t/DSCF1499.jpg

Nice bro, I am thinking of installing an intake as well but a friend told me my check engine light will come on and I'd have to disconnected it or take it so i don't see it. Sounds like a turn off. But is this true?

Mine came on but by the 7-8 time I started the car over the next few days it came off. It man have only came on because I started the car for a sec to turn the wheel while the MAF sensor was disconnected.

It is def a leak around the throttle body. Make sure that the hose is secured and flush with the throttle body. This happened to me. Air was getting out around the throttle body and the max was hesitating.

Whistle sound

I Finally got my Fujita and i have installed it on my 08 maxima. Everything is good no check engine light and no hesitation. I think i installed the bolt screws on the opposite side than how novibration has his. I hope that doesnt makes a difference. I have a question though. When i step on the gas the car whistles coming from the intake. Is this normal or does that mean i have a leak. What should i do?

I have had the jita installed for a couple of years now. Had to take it off cuz the screw with the rubber broke. I then installed OEM one. I totally forgot how the low end torque felt that was lost due to the CAI. I know I felt a lot of torque disappear with the block-off plate. But with the OEM intake I almost couldn't feel the loss. You guys know where I can get a replacement for that screw thingy?

Heres the fujita site selling some viberation mounts, not sure which one you need, ill have to look at the install sheet. http://www.f5air.com/e_com/vibemts.html

I dont see why you cant get a rubber piece and put a screw thru it from home depot? Im sure its cheaper lol.

QUESTION??

I have had this intake since about september of last year... My air filter should still be good right?

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY!... On the bottom of where the air filter sits on the intake.,.. someone told me i should make a hole there so the air could go in from the bottom of the car... but the intake just touches the plastic ...>????

Yea it sounds like turbo. I usually hear the whistle after i realese the gas pedal after pressing it and hearing the roooooar. after the roarrrrr you hear the wiiiisssssssst. Man on the CVT the high horses has increased. I hit 120mph easily. The thing i like about this Fujita it stay sleep until you bother it. So you can cruise if you want silently and unleash the beast when you feel like it. My car sounds like a nissan g35 now lol. If you really want to be fast at all time keep disconecting the battery because after the ECU adjust its not as fast as when you first disconented the battery. Its still a beast but its even more "beastly" after you run it after a battery disconect.

Lighty i know your a Newbie so i wont dog you out. LOL. There are Tons of threads on CAI. Read around is some forums and you have to make your decision from there. If i tell you what to do it will be my opinion. I would say if you dont drive in puddles of water then go with the Fujita. If you do then go with Nismo because you can turn it into a short intake with no chance of hydro, and it also has a outlet i belive for water to escape and not get sucked into the engine. I personally dont see myself driving in deep water so i happy with my Fujita. Sounds awsome also!
