HAHA, first you have to take the headlight out so you can get the ballast from the HID....Get the headlight out then if you still have questions ask

It isn't worth doing - the stock bulbs might be worth $20, and the ballasts about $80.

BUT

The projectors don't fit halogen bulbs, which means u gotta either put a D2S hid kit back in (which is $60), or find someone with the halogen headlights and trade the whole thing. There isn't a halogen bulb that will fit inside the stock HID headlights, and there's no point in going through the hassle of swapping an ebay kit in, since that will cost you almost as much as what you can get for selling the OEM setup.

Not to mention, taking out the Matsu****a ballasts and putting cheap Ebay ones would be incredibly sleazy.

You can do that. Do you have a spare set of 04-06 halogen headlights to replace them with, or are you just going to sell a car without headlights?

I don't know if you're following me - the only way to take the xenons out of that Maxima is to put a full halogen headlight assembly in. It's not possible to just swap a halogen bulb into the factory HID headlights and call it a day.

in simple terms its not as easy as in the 02 and 03 models.... i would have to swap the entire headlight assembly ...

1st reason-You will not find a halogen bulb that twists into the HID projector socket or wire harnes.
2nd- when you remove the ballast it will leave a big 3" round hole on the bottom of the assembly where it mounts.

how would your brother sell his maxima without headlights?

like they said, you would have to buy complete new headlights: housings and bulbs, to replace in his car.

Since you like the stock look so much, just purchase an aftermarket HID kit in 4300K.

To what? The only recommended way to put HIDs in a 4th gen is to do a projector retrofit.

PM kzoosho or maxgtr2000, I think they do them for money. Occasionally, they pop up in the For Sale section too.

First of all, this isn't the for sale section.

Second of all, the thread was talking about 4th gens. 9006 and H11 will not fit 4th gens.
