Anyone have this?

So I just upgraded my Maxima to a 05 SL. I had a 03 ME TE 6 speed. I love the new Max, however I miss the spoiler. I have spent a few week reading the 6th gen forums and have decided I am going to get a Fujita CIA, the LED tails, and a spoiler and maybe a few other mods you guys recommend. The spoiler being the first mod. I really like the 07/08 spoilers, but then there is the issue of drilling into my trunk and then what do I do with the window brake light? So I think I am going to get the 04-06 spoiler nub, no drilling and no light issue. Has anyone added this to their 04-06 SL, any pics, how did it turn out?

I would not be comprimising, I could drill holes but even if I did then I have to worry about rust/oxidation of the paint. And still what would I do with my current 3rd brake light? Just leave it there unplugged? Idealy I want a 07 spoiler without a brake light, but havn't found them. The spoiler nubs on ebay are just installed with 3m double sided tape.

So anyone could come along and yank off your investment? There's got to be a way to seal the 07's bolt holes.

I really doubt someone will try to rip off my nub of a spoiler. I know everyone including myself really likes the 07 spoiler, but I think it will look ackward if I have that on and still have a 3rd brake light in the rear window.

The 07-08 spoiler doesn't even compare to the other 04-06 spoiler. I wouldn't even call what you want a spoiler. Just get the 07-08 spoiler painted off ebay for $110 and have it installed. Then you can either leave the 3rd brake light on the deck or take it out.

Yeah, I know, I called it a "nub" What about oxidation/rust forming around the holes I drilled. My buddy has a 2000 max gle and he wants to do this mod as well, but we are both worried about rust forming around the holes. We live in upstate new york so a lot of snow. that is why I am thinking about the nub option.

About the 3rd brake light...its a simple plug to remove the light assembly and then you can buy the cover block off plate from nissan that goes on the rear deck after you remove the light assembly to cover up the hole that will be there. It comes in 3 colors if i recall correctly, black tan and gray ? I have the black one and it works well. GL

There is a cover made for the 3rd brake light. About the rust, I'm not sure what the guys installing mine did, but I'm pretty sure they used a special rust sealant on it.

Its just a trunk lid. There is sooo much info on here about the 07-08 spoiler. If you do a search then you can answer your own question.

I have a carbon fiber trunk spoiler, so if any spoiler was gonna get ripped off, it would be that, and no one has touched it as far as I know. I know the factory WRX spoilers came with locking cables!!!!

The hood and the trunk on the Maxima are made of Aluminum and therefore will not rust...You many buy touch up paint if you are so concerned and ask the installer to paint around the holes after drilling before bolting the new spoiler...Just go ahead and enjoy the car...Another mod that You should consider is the front Grille! I have changed mine to a Trenz Grille (Brushed polished Aluminum) Lund is now the distributor of the Trenz Grille. I added the logo in the front after. It's from Nissan Japan and is a trunk logo...although I love the way it looks on the front and have received a lot of compliments on it....Lower the car...it will look cool and then be prepared to be starred at! LOL!
