HELP: Evap hose clogged in 08 maxima? where?

Ok org, i seem to be having a lil problem. I was having this weird smell in the car (rotten egg smell, I am still working it out) but while I am changing gas grades and company, i felt like the smell got into the fabric, so my girl and i decide to use some carpet fresh from arm and hammer, the kind you vaccume up. Anyway we go to the rear passanger side to pull up the mat, its soaking wet and so is the carpet. I drive to the mechanic i trust and he says the evap hose that releases the condensation is clogged. Where is this hose located? Any tips in fixing this (mechanic said bout 40 buck to fix) thanks guys

Its located in your pocket between the leather that holsters your $$$

LOL, nah man, I have never heard of this before. I saw something under the rear bench seat once when I took it apart. Other then that, no clue.

08? Should still be under warranty, right?

Same thinking here. Since you are still under 35k, you are still under bumper-to-bumper warranty. Take your ride to the dealership first. It could be fixed for free. The dealership will tell who exactly what is wrong, though I am guessing they might charge you to diagnose it. But no way! I will convince them, since it is under warranty, they should diagnose and fix for free.

Unless you are over 36K mi then your car is still under warranty. Take it to the dealer and have them fix for free. Your carpet should NOT be soaked with water!

Playa_FL is right. And I know you have mentioned your car is under 35k. So, before you let the mechanic fix it, it would be good to take to the dealership. Whether you are second owner or not...., the warranty tranfers.

They should fix it for free. Besides, they might even diagnose it better. It is under warranty, so, if they come with some crazy thing about the problem, it shoudl still be on them to take care of that. Give this a shot before stopping at your mechanic.

I don't knw of any Nissan dealership whose service department is pen today, I would have given you the number.

I let you guys know what i decide to do. I dont have time to take to the dealer on monday as i know they will want me to make an appointment (rare to find same day appt.) and then try and fight a battle to fix for free. i know it might be easier then i am probably making it but for 50 bucks i will make my mechanic fix. the main reason is that this guy fixed my last nissan when 2 dealerships and 3 other mechanics could not. I have a long drive on tuesday to longview, tx so i want to get this fixed asap. thanks for the info guys.

UPDATE: OK org, went to the dealer mossey nissan (they were really nice, will go there again) anyways turns out that the evap hose was not plugged in. This is due to the aftermarket radio, the installer never hooked it back up again. Take note guys, if you are having an aftermaket radio put in by someone else, make sure they plug that in. Btw it cost 69.95 for this, LOL.

I guess we were all right to insist you go to the dealership. So, what made you change your mind? It is good they told you exactly what was wrong and fixed it. Maybe your mechanic could figure it out, but dealership is always good to go especioally with your car still being new and under warranty, even if warranty does not cover.

Now you can ride with a great peace if mind. There is no feeling than that bro. You ready for your trip?

The woman made me change my mind, LMAO, women are good at that. I really like that Mossey nissan, they were nice and showed care, I called baker jackson on Kirby and boy i did not feel comfortable going there, the guy said to find out it wil cost 6hr labor around 600, that's 100 an hour, crazy. FYI CVT oil change is 180 at mossey. I am now ready and confident of my trip to longview.

Great! I don't think I have ever been to Mossey. I will give them a call and check them out. I like to always shop around for every service. Thanks.

I guess you told your girl about the numerous advice you have gotten. She had to tell you to go to the dealer, coz, your boys here at the org were right. Listen to them, pal!

Baker is very expensive. For that, I know. I shop around and get quotes before ever going to them.

Im going to go to baker jackson to get my TPMS recalibrated eventually, talked them down to about $50 to do it. Originally they wanted $190 LMAO.
Mossy is kinda nice, but I would have haggled them cheaper on that simple task. Glad it got fixed for ya!
