Two problems with the Max, need help

So I got two issues with my 05 maxima se 6speed. First one i noticed if i am in 6th gear going about 60mph if I press the gas pedal firmly and quickly into the floor I noticed my rpms would climb up about 1000rpms, and engine would sound like its accelerating but its just a hollow rev, feels like slippage, and then the needle would drop about 500rpm and car would start accelerating. I swear its almost like a CVT but i have a 6 speed manual.

Keep in mind this is all while the clutch is not touched, this happens in every gear at various speeds. Needle would gains rpms, then drop and climb back up. Before if i was in 4th at 30 or 5th at 50 or 6th at 60 if i press the gas the needle just goes up and car accelerated without that slip/gap rpm back and forth action. SO what could it be?

Issue #2 Sunroof lever to open and close it no longer opens or closes the sunroof. THe tilt button is still working but i cannot fully open the roof. What can i check? Thanks.

1) Someome that knows manuals can chime in

2) sounds like you just need to reset your sunroof. It's easy: Use the tilt button to tilt it up... and then again to get it to close... then just hold the tilt down button a few seconds. I do 10-15 just to be sure, then release.

You should be able to use the slide control now.

Yup, do that with the roof, happened to mine. Either beause the battery power was cut off to the sunroof motor, or if the auto reverse engaged too many times.
I have no idea how autos and manuals compare, but i think you can adjust bands on them (maybe) and that might make shifts better with no lags, at least thats recommended on my '01 grand cherokee. Otherwise, a slip in the tranny might be a bigger issue.

If your rpms are climbing while in low speed/high gear its a sign that your clutch needs replacing. Get up to 30mph, shift to sixth, if the rpms jump or increase, thats your issue. You'll see the rpms but you wont feel the car accelerate.
