AUTO DIMMING MIRROR

Since I bought the car the rear view mirror has not worked properly..The auto dimmer works about 25% of the time and the other 75% does not work.

Has anybody else experienced this?

I've had a similar issue. I think it has to do with the time of night etc. When it is just getting dark the dimmer doesn't seem to be doing much, but when it is dark out, it works pretty well.

I've also noticed that it works better the farther the car is behind me. If a car is closer, it doesn't seem to work as well. Could just be that the lights are closer, but either way, its not very consistant with the dimming like a traditional mirror.

You can always ebay a new one, or try a salvage yard.

By tinting your windows you reduce the amount of light coming through so yeah your auto dimming rear view mirror isn't going to work... I'm surprised you actually still even need it to dim after tinting...

I have an 07 and noticed the same thing.I also have tinted windows.I think it has to do with how bright everything is behind you.

My windows are tinted and the mirror still works, though not as much do to less light coming through. Now if some person drives with there high beams on behind me the mirror does its job!
