Lowering Springs on the 6th Gen Comparison

OK so let me know if I should take this down or move but I wanted to start a thread where everyone can post pics and describe their expiriences with the lowering springs they chose. Its a big debate that most of us have, which brand to go with? how will it ride? So lets see if this becomes helpful!

So please post what brand you got?
How much it lowered your car?
How it rides?
What shocks your using?
Any Problems?
And Pics!!!!:D

MiamiBlackMax 02-10-2010 07:22 PM

:mrgone: let the comments start ( btw there are about a trillion threads of pics and ppl comments on almost all springs for the ride)

ditto but lets make it short. progress with the kyb struts and shocks are the cheapest route with a drop of a little short of 2" in the front with 1.75" in the back ( i know the numbers arent exact to the teeth but very close ) ride is so so depending on the rubber and the rim size. i have 22's with that setup and its decent but i have a few more supension componets. my supension is about 30% stock and 70% aftermarket

rear drop is a little off. i think you meant 0.75"
Best bang for the buck.

I haven't had any problems yet with the lowering springs. Everything is still tight and once the springs settled, it rides even better I think.

DineroDave 02-16-2010 06:24 PM

I'm convinced! I'm goin wit eibachs!!! Gonna wait til my warranty, and this snow!, ends and I'll throw them on for April. Should get the 07-08 wing by the weekend, cant wait!

04pearlwhitemax 02-16-2010 10:01 PM

I did eibachs and kyb gr-2's up front waiting for the rear shocks to putthe springs as well but for the most part I love the way the car rides and handles up front big difference.

TarmacSL1 02-17-2010 06:10 AM

Originally I had H&R (1.4 Front , 1.3 rear) with OEM shocks, I just got a set of Eibachs and replaced the Fronts only leaving the H&R's on the back so now I am sitting ~2.0 Front and the ~1.4 Rear. Looks much better than before, Ride quailty is the same but only had them on since Monday so time will tell.

i have a question though, im going to lower just the front 2" does anyone thing thats a bad idea, because i thought it would first even out the car and give it a good stance

reviving an old thread..
I installed only the front coils Teins with KYB struts, and it didn't lower the car that much :) I looks better non the less

Looks alright to me....or may be it's hard to jurge from small picture. You should wait few weeks for springs to settle down. Also you should install both front and rear springs at the same time.

macakin 03-21-2011 09:16 AM

I'm afraid to put the back ones cause then it would look lower in the back than in the front and I don't want that

Unless you're doing something wrong, tein springs shouldn't give you uneven drop if installing them on all corners. They drop pretty even when installed correctly which you did in your case. However one thing I can add is may be you've got counterfeit tein springs? There are bot load of counterfeit tein springs floating around. I heard stories that those counterfeit tein springs does not drop correctly and later they sags and get rusted. Where did you buy your tein springs from? Is that possible for you to take a picture of any/all markings on the springs itself including tein decale?

Just because the fender gap looks even does not mean that the car sits level.

The gap in the rear will be less than the front.

Also, that does not look dropped in the front at all. Maybe it will settle.

I just got a 2008 Max SL with 38k miles on it. What Can I do to it without Voiding out the factory warranty?

tdark1582 03-23-2011 06:04 AM

Tein should give you a small drop but not H&R.
