Well theres nothing to it, just replace the fluid at 60k if it haven't been replaced *(special CVT Fluid needed) and there is a 10 year 120k mile warrenty
Thanks, the previous owner says it's been done but I want to go ahead and change it anyways rather be safer than sorry. I looked at the fluid and it's crystal clear should I change it? What color is this fluid supposed to look like when good vs bad?
Fluid pic a few posts down: http://www.nissanmurano.org/forums/s...threadid=12454
My CVT was short a quart, I had a Nissan Tech do a visual inspection no leaks so he concluded that my CVT fluid is low due to normal wear but he was sorta unsure why it would be low in the first place. He recommended I do a flush ($199.00) lol. But from what I read on here a CVT flush @ Nissan means drain and fill so if that's the case I can do that myself.
Personally I don't think it's necessary that I rush and do it? I never use the manual shift mode I'm never gonna race this thing it's just to get to work and back 78 miles each way. The Tech says the fluid looks good and now topped off. I'll wait till next pay day and buy the 6 quarts and do it myself..
Gotta save for the Sig project...

Ouch! Terrentius, was that a flush or drain and fill?

Partial Drain and fill. They can't drain it completely, unless they dissembled it, and they don't do a flush either.
CVT fluid, up here in my neck of the woods, runs $35 quart. She ain't cheap. They only put in about five quarts cause that is all they drained from her. I imagine she would be much more expensive if they did a complete drain and refill...$35 a quart ain't no joke, son!
Anyhoo, it is done, and if it ensures that Nissan will honor their CVT 120000k warranty, then, in my books, it is money well spent.
