Led Strip Mod
alright fellas. most of you pm'ed me about this and asked if did a write up for the led strip in my headlights. i also added them on all four doors, trunk, and footwells.
1. youre gonna need to buy and led strip. i got mine on ebay for cheap. paid 15 for 10 leds strips. make sure you get the 9 inch strip or else it wont fit in the side markers
2. youre also gonna need to buy the empty 194 wedge base adapters. they sell them at autoalluminations.com i bought 10 of them for less than 5 bucks
3. your gonna need double sided tape if you dont want to used glue.
here are some pics of what they look like
9 inch led strip
empty 194 wedge base adapter
peel the rubber around the wire
now run the two wires through each hole on the adapter.
make sure that the wires are not touching each other or it wont light up

now take the wires and bend them on both sides
and thats it. just install like you would a normal bulb.
if it wont light up. switch it, and make sure both wires arent touching each other. easy as pie. all that for under 20 bucks.
now here are some pics of the end result.

Simple yet brilliant. I'm on ebay right now ordering a huge amount of those LED strips. My car will be lit up like a stadium at night when the doors are open.

This will be my next mod!
This looks NICE!
Being that this will onlt be my 2nd mod (Cluster was the 1st)
can anyone point me in the direction of a HOW-To on removing the headlights?
Also for OP did you use double sided tape to keep the led stip in place for the headlights? Or does it just sit in there?
Looks GREAT! looking foward to this mod

Looks really really good and most importantly--stock... I love that. I'll be doing this when I open my heads. Good Job!
How did you mount the strips inside the headlight? I can't seem to figure that out....

forgot all about the wedge adapters. awesome idea.
been looking at different LEDs and strips. some really nice ones out there:
http://www.oznium.com/flexible-led-strips
flat black ones would be perfect for concealing. the side emitting ones are interesting too. not sure about longevity/reliability on many out there though. hear good and bad.
they also have these which make possibilities only limited by your imagination:
http://www.oznium.com/prewired-superflux
and flat ones:
http://www.oznium.com/prewired-surface-mount-led
i just don't want to over do it like many haha. thinking just flat strips under the doors for when open.
another great site an org member already found:
http://www.v-leds.com/
going to replace all my tail bulbs with them.

I just read this again and noticed on the wedge base you have both wires on the same side...
If it were me I'd change that soon.
Most if not all wedge bulbs have one on one side and one on the other.
Seems like a fire hazard to me.
Also, your subs look to be upside down.
Got another CL find for you too.

good use of the 194 adapter...those LED strips look like the exact same ones I got off ebay...I was using them on my front bumper and in 2 months individual LEDs on the strip started to fail...but it looked hot while it lasted...
